Collectively we kept a strong face, stopping the rumors. I was already armed with a new dagger, and so was Blayse. Willing to kill to remain dominant. We'd lost enough. Desperation wasn't far behind, and if that happens, the inmates better be scared of us.

"If he does return, he will be coming from this direction," Blayse explained, pointing to the southeast.

"Any word of Wren?" Tomorrow asked, curious about things since being out the loop.

"Too soon, that's not what we're looking for," I answered.

"If there's nothing within two days we'll have to put together a small expedition to find them," Blayse advised. "Puck is a mandatory component of the Vipers."

"The Arachnids will return. Ask yourself, would a lion leave half his food to waste?" Tomorrow asked.

"Wren, specifically Nuli will drag the fight out for hours if need be. I know them. The problem is...they will lose. Just like us. I don't think the

Arachnids ever wanted Hornet in the first place."
