Pepper writes stories that span the gamut from humorous to heartfelt, however the common theme is crossing boundaries. The Miseducation of Riley Pranger

Adam looked up at his mom. "Yeah, mom?"


"I have something important to tell you."


Adam took a big bite of biscuit. "Okay."


"Don‘t talk with your mouth full," she said distractedly. "Adam. You know how I told you that I wanted to come up to Cobb Hill so that you could get a taste of country living?"


"Well there is more to it than that." She and Riley exchanged looks and he encouraged her with a smile. "Remember the letter that your birth mother left for you?"


"Well in the letter she told us the name of your father. Your biological father."


"So I thought I‘d come up here to meet him. Because the letter said that your biological father didn‘t know anything about your existence. I wanted to tell him about you in person."


Adam seemed to think about her words. He remained quiet so Stella continued.
