The Fourth Stage

Annya found herself at the apex of a flat-topped mountain peak. The only things she could see off of the edge was a dense layer of clouds. Her opponent was Gin.

Merlin himself was overseeing this matchup.

Gin smiled. "Well, well, well. Looks like only one of us is going to pass on."

Annya kept an uppity attitude. "Gin, I'm tired okay? Do us both a favor and forfeit."

"Forfeit? Now why would I do that? I finally have a chance to take advantage of my situation. Only one of us can become a Magi. Just imagine the benefits. The status. The power. That's why I came here."

Annya brought out her wand. She sighed. "Third-rate talent like you shouldn't dream so big. You spent the entire second stage cowering in fear."

Gin grumbled. "I'll show you what third-rate looks like!!" He clapped his hands together. "Magic Art: Red Artillery!"

Two large turrets made up of red mana showed up and started firing fifty rounds per second.
