Aftershock, Part Five

Ten opened his eyes. It was dawn, the sky was red, and the red grass blew softly in the gentle wind.

But he wasn't paying attention to that. He was watching the pair of black boots walk closer and closer to him. It was a man. He was walking together with four white dogs that had red eyes and small horns on their heads.

Ten slowly brought his gaze up to see the person's face. He was a fair-skinned adult, with short black hair and silver eyes. His bare chest showed many tattoos, and a wide leather belt lined with white fur held up his animal skin trousers. He bent down to get a better look at Ten. He grabbed his face and moved it to the side, in order to get a good look from all angles.

"You still alive?"

Ten frowned.

"Seems so. Some gremlins informed me of a mysterious human that took the arm of one of their own. I assume that's you?"

"So they're the ones who brought you here… hmph, cowards."
