Aftershock, Part Eight

Haruna walked alone through the halls of the building. She put a hand to her head. "It hurts so badly… I can feel the pulse… like a heartbeat in the ground. I must… find it."

Gida caught sight of the Alpha Building. He jumped towards it. As he did, the colors of the city changed to pinks, reds, and purples. He stopped and looked around him. The buildings seemed to curve and warp in unnatural ways. "Am I going under the effects? No, I can't be. The world itself is becoming a delusion!"

All of the nearby people had already run away, due to their own delusions of being chased by some catastrophe.

Gida watched as Haruna walked out of the building, her eyes stale of emotion. "Hey!!"

She paid no mind to him.

Gida jumped down. He blocked her path.

Haruna plainly looked him in the eyes. "Please move. I don't want to hurt you."

"You've gotta stop this. You might not want to hurt me, but you're hurting innocent people."

"I can't stop it. It won't stop until I find my other half."
