Reckoning

Sura kicked open a door, holding a short stack of two boxes. He slowly stomped into the room and set them down with a dull thud. He wiped the sweat from his brow. "What's in these things…?"

Turning around, Sura left the room to find Maman Brigitte fiddling with an array of magic formations that looked like stars and constellations. She appeared to be perplexed.

"Maman. What're in those boxes? You could at least tell me since you had me carry them all this way."

"Just a moment grili."

Sura flopped down on a sofa, slightly irritated. Still, he remained silent and watched.

Brigitte moved the formations around, reading them and reorganizing them. "Yawai…"

"What is it?"

"A great disaster is upon us… I am sure of it."

Sura looked up. "Hm. What is it this time? Deadly insects? A horde of goblins? Gargoyles maybe?"

"This is no time t'be playin'!!"

Sura sharply looked at her.
