Chapter 67

On the way back to the settlement Kathrine got to know her three new recruits. Charles drove most of the way, being uncomfortable sitting anywhere else in the car, and Kathrine didn't mind. She had helped Charles recruit people so many times, only to ship them off before finding out anything about them. This was their last recruiting mission for a while, so it only made sense that the two of them would bring in these last three recruits. There was only room for two more at the auditorium, but Kathrine doubted Kristie would be staying there. A woman with her experience didn't need to be placed with the recruits who barely had a grasp on what an Asuune was.

"So how did you two meet?" Kathrine asked Jack and James. She kept falling back on the near impossible fact that two Nephilim, who were not romantically involved, had become friends.
