After a few more minutes they had almost reached Kathrine's door. Once again, Jack found the courage to ask his questions. Kristie's anger had subsided and he needed answers, even if it brought back the anger.
"What do you mean? What did you do?" Jack asked, trying to keep up with her. He had heard the guilt in her voice.
Kristie ignored Jack's questions and knocked on Kathrine's door. She wasn't sure why she was knocking. She was staying there.
"Kristie?" Kathrine asked, confused as she opened the door.
"Can I come in?" Kristie's guilt, anger, and desperation could be heard in her voice.
"You live here. Well, you're staying here," Kathrine said then moved out of the way so Kristie and Jack could come in.
"Not for long. Not after you hear what I have to say. I need to try and undo this before it's too late." Kristie marched over and threw herself down on the couch, which she used for a bed.
