Chapter 40- Death before dishonour

Karma leaned against of the apartment door and sighed; she had the perfect alibi and had planned her disguise for weeks.  She hugged the dark spots along the roadway on the way back to the church and cursed herself that she was not able to carry out the act that she had premeditated for months. 

  I'm such a fool she thought as she sighed. She flushed the toilet and slipped back into the congregation, she was missing by her count about thirty minutes. She looked around for Michael and wondered if he had left her at the church. 

  To her surprise, he appeared beside her and flashed a big smile. 

  "Boy I seemed as if I messed up my cycle by not eating on time today and now I am paying the price," he said. 

  "I am not the cause of that am I?" Karma asked disappointedly.

  "No sweetheart I had some business in Kingston, and it took longer than I thought and then you called."
