Chapter 48

When her clients left, Liberty returned to her desk, ready to order something for lunch at the deli down the street. As she perused the takeout menu on her laptop, Brandon came into the office.

"Hey there, boss," he greeted with a firm smile."Guess what I have."

Liberty glanced at him."A corned beef sandwich on rye?"

"No, but I'd like one if you're ordering.Actually pastrami sounds good. But I have some interesting news to depart first."He plopped down in the chair recently vacated David Vreeland."Remember that woman heckler at the shelter dedication?"

Liberty vaguely remembered the lady who shouted her pro-life slogans.

"Her name is Heather Pomers," Brandon revealed, sitting on the edge of the chair."Well, Savannah Baumgard confronted Mrs. Pomers last night, accused the woman of breaking into the clinic to steal the files that are now missing.Plus, Mrs. Baumgard thinks that Heather Pomers is blackmailing her over some private and very confidential information."
