As soon as he spotted her, he tried to dampen a sly smile."Good evening, counselor."His gaze traveled up and down her body, taking in the details."Nice outfit, very bright and glitzy."

"Never mind that," she huffed, trying to catch her breath after running through the detention center parking lot.Even for a Saturday night, she had to park her Caddy practically miles away.

Liberty threw the sergeant a tacit look."Did you arrest my client, Ms. Kime?"

He nodded."Yes, I did.I found enough evidence to allow the judge to issue an arrest warrant."

"On what charge?"

"Murder first degree."

"Oh, come on now, sergeant!You can't honestly believe that Ms. Kime, a very intelligent woman, would blatantly murder the man she considered a good friend, even a father figure?"
