The drive to Jolene's was short. Upon arrival, Dalton parked the car next to the building in a visitor's spot and helped Elyse out. Dalton made a note of the license plate number of the car parked where Jolene's had been last night. They turned and walked the short distance to the front door where Elyse gave Dalton the key. He opened the door and stepped inside. He led the way up the stairs to the entryway foyer area. Dalton paused enough to make Elyse curious then turned to her. "Stay right here. Someone may still be inside." 


His weapon drawn and down at his side, he disappeared into the house while she waited and worried. Finally, he rejoined Elyse in the entryway.
