"Seth," a voice asked him in the distance. "Seth, can you hear me?" 


Herman was kneeling beside him as he lay on the forest floor, disoriented.


Slowly, Seth began to regain consciousness, as the realization of what transpired sank in. The black figure, the forest, Briana ... suddenly, he tried to sit up, but spots formed before his eyes again, playing with his balance. He remained in a sitting position, placing his head on his knees, trying to fully regain consciousness. 


"Boy, are you hurt?" Herman asked, concerned.  


"Please do not call me boy," Seth replied without looking, letting his head rest upon his knees. "Where's Briana?" Seth sat on the forest floor, rubbing the back of his head. 


"She is safe at Colin's cabin. I took her there myself. Colin, Bryce, and Reese are with her. She is well protected," 


Herman relied, kneeling beside him on the ground on one knee.
