"Good morning, princess." A gentle voice woke Briana as rays of sunlight streamed through the large window, and even in her half groggy state, Briana knew that the voice belonged to Ellie. 


Briana opened her eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the bright burst of sunlight. "Did you open the shudders?" Briana asked, holding up a hand to shield her eyes. 


"No, my lady." Ellie sounded a bit alarmed. "They were open when I entered the room."


"Oh, I must have left them open last night," Briana half mumbled under her breath. The last thing she remembered was looking out the window at the stars on the horizon, thinking of Seth. 


"Tessa sent me to help you prepare for the day," Ellie said sheepishly, then continued in a low voice. "It is the big day."


"Yes, the big day," Briana said sarcastically, as she sat up, still trying to adjust to the bright light. "If not anything else, I will be able to leave this blasted room."
