"Enough!" Seth replied to Dain and the other knights, rising to his feet. He wasn't about to let these men make a fool of him. Then, he turned to face Briana and took a deep breath. He had hoped to tell her when they were alone, but now he had no choice. "Three men dressed in castle armor attacked me in the corridor outside of my room last night after I left you."


"That is why there were guards posted on my door this morning," she said, looking down at the table, letting it sink in. Then, she looked back up to Seth. "Who were they?"


"He said that they were Dracon's guards," Dain said sarcastically, laughing, rising to his feet as he looked straight into Seth's eyes. 


"And who told you that?" Seth asked, as one corner of his lips curled into a sly smile. "Unless you were one of the three."
