Behind the castle, Seth was greeted by a bright light glowing orange and amber in the darkness of the night. Flames were long tongues, lapping large logs stacked into a pyre, larger than he had ever seen. 


"Seth, there you are," Briana said, rushing to his side. 


Seth held out his arms and she ran into them. It felt good to have her in his arms again, to hold her again and to feel her warmth. Forcing a smile, he gave her a gentle squeeze and turned to face the others. As he looked around the fire, everyone was smiling, but Lisa's eyes met his briefly, then turned away. Seth wondered what was on her mind, but Briana interrupted his thoughts. 


"What is the matter?" Briana whispered as he guided her back to the others. 


"It's nothing," Seth shrugged it off. "I'll tell you later."


Briana raised an eyebrow. "Is it Colin?"
