Chapter 16

Well, it was obvious that I wasn't going to get any answers from him tonight, so I picked up my fork and cut a piece of my steak. I was suddenly so hungry that I could have just picked it up and eaten it with my bare hands if Lance hadn't been there. I laughed at the thought.

Lance leaned back and gave me a sly grin as he cut another bite of his steak. "May I ask you a personal question?"

The look in his eyes was so sweet that I couldn't help but smile. "It depends upon the question."

"How do you like to be fucked?" His question was anything but innocent.

My mouth fell open and I almost choked on my steak, shocked as I leaned back a bit. "Excuse me?"

Then, he looked at me through his lashes and said in a low voice, "Perhaps you didn't hear me correctly. How, my dear, do you like to be fucked?"

My breath quickened, shocked by the question as I remembered both times that I'd kissed him and how I had come undone in his arms. This was the turning point, slamming into me hard. "Lance, I " He raised an eyebrow as he casually took a bite of his steak. "Well, I like to be taken by surprise, but my husband "

"I didn't ask you about him," he interrupted, taking my hand. "Do you like it hard and fast, or nice and slow?"

"Okay, I think this conversation has gone on long enough."

Even though I'd never thought of cheating on my husband before I met Lance, he made it sound so casual, so natural. Steven and I hardly made love and it was never hot and nasty anymore. We made love occasionally, but never fucked. I started to get hot and wet between my thighs just having this conversation with Lance, let alone do anything with him. I pushed my chair back to leave, but part of me wanted to stay.

"Don't leave yet," Lance begged in a firm voice, taking my hand. It was so different from when my husband touched me. "You haven't finished your meal and I have more questions to ask."

"Like what?" I asked, mesmerized by his emerald green eyes as I slid back into my seat and cut another piece of my steak.

"Like you haven't answered my question yet," he responded, tracing lazy circles on my hand.

"Do you ask this of all your women?" I asked, anticipating his answer as my heart beat erratically within my chest. This was the hottest conversation that I'd had in my life.

"No, only the ones that I want to bed," he answered directly, taking a sip of his coffee as if this was the most normal conversation in the world.

"Oh, I see," I said for lack of anything better to say. "And is that a lot?"

"Of fucks?" he asked directly.

"Of ladies," I amended, "and fucks, too." Heat rose within my body.

"Not as many as you may think, considering. It's been a while. Usually, I just take them out for dinner," he said with a sly smile. Then, he leaned in close and lowered his voice as he looked directly into my blue eyes. "But I want to fuck you."

"Not just take me out for dinner?" I asked for lack of anything better to say, trying unsuccessfully to hide my shock.

"No."

"Well, thanks for dinner, Lance, but I have to get back to work." Actually, this hot conversation was scaring the shit out of me. We had been dancing around our attraction for one another and now, this was the moment of truth.

"What time do you get off work?" Lance asked, persistent.

I took a deep breath. "Anytime," I replied. My heart raced, not sure why I had just told him that. Something hidden inside was taking over. He had awakened something inside me that I never knew existed. "My shift ended hours ago."

"Well " he said, tracing lazy circles on the top of my hand. "Why don't you finish up and I'll meet you outside, then we can discuss this further."

I wasn't sure what to say. He had taken me completely by surprise. I had never cheated on my husband before nor had I ever felt the urge to, but with Lance, it was different-natural. "Yes well " I stammered, coming back to my senses. I rose to my feet and he did the same, never breaking eye contact. "I have to get back to work."

He walked around me, examining me as he inhaled the scent of my hair, and then leaned in close to my ear, letting his teeth graze over my earlobe. "I'll meet you in the parking lot "

"I'm not so sure about that "

"What's the matter?" he asked, his voice a low whisper. "Don't you want to be made love to?" His fingertips brushed down my neck to my shoulders. Then, his hand trailed down my arm and slid across my waist. I gasped as he pulled my back abruptly to his chest. "By the way, you never answered my question."

"Hard," I blurted out, knowing exactly the question to which he was referring. Then, I looked directly into his eyes. "I like to be fucked hard and long."

"Have you been fucked like that before?" He grinned as he gently kissed my neck.

I closed my eyes, savoring the moment, "Not in a while."

Then, he whispered into my ear, "I'll be waiting."

I took a deep breath, waiting for him to say more, but when I opened my eyes, he was gone.

Composing myself, I tried to remember how to walk as I headed toward the front, thinking. It had been a long time since I had been seduced like that probably never. Dazed, I turned toward the locker room to get my purse.

Who would know, after all? I had a feeling that it would probably be a one-night stand at best, but a part of me hoped that it would be more. This was just sex and probably good to get it out of our systems. That's what I told myself, but something inside of me knew it was more. I shook my head, breaking the spell of the moment, and then walked to the locker room to get my purse. The locker room was empty. There was enough light to see clearly, even though it was dimly lit, but something didn't feel quite right. It was almost as if eyes were watching me as I crossed the room quickly to my locker.

I opened my locker door, and then I heard something behind me and quickly spun around. "Who's there?" I asked into the empty room as a thrill ran through my body, but there was no answer. I laughed as I shook my head, knowing that I was just being silly. Then, I picked up my purse and slammed the locker door shut, fully expecting to see Lance standing behind it, but there was no one. I turned to walk away, hurrying from the room.
