"Are you okay?" Rosa asked, her eyes filled with concern.
I nodded, looking into the coffee mug. "Yes, I'm fine," I replied, and then amended with a slight smile, "As well as can be expected."
Holding her mug, Rosa sat down on the couch beside me.
"What was he doing with that woman, Rosa?" I asked as big, ugly tears coursed down my cheeks. "And how am I going to tell his parents about it?"
"Shush," Rosa cooed, gently patting my back. "You don't have to tell them anything." She looked into my eyes and forced a smile. "Besides, it could have been purely innocent. Was she his secretary?"
"He doesn't have a secretary."
"A colleague, then?" Rosa amended. "Maybe it wasn't what it seemed."
