Bae pushed her face into her pillow, trying to ignore the banging sound that was attacking her eardrums.
Her pillow, Armel's chest moved slightly as he grumbled, "fuck off."
The hand she was holding, let go of her, causing her to reach behind her for Caspet but he wasn't there.
"Caspet?" she called for him.
I'm here, love, she heard as she turned to see him sitting on the edge of the bed, pulling on his trousers.
The banging sound that Bae could still here was coming from the door.
"What the hell?" Armel complained, sitting up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Caspet opened the door, just as Bae wrapped the bedsheet around herself. Kael barged into the room, past Caspet without apology.
"Kumari, we need to go."
"Go?" Bae asked. "Go where?"
"What's happened?" Armel asked, climbing from the bed, dressing as quickly as possible. He was a Cankurian through and through. He was on guard, ready to defend his mate.
"There's been an attack," Kael said.
