Chapter 67: Do You Think Adelaide Will Join Us?

Stood between her two mates, Bae began to feel herself calm slightly. Her chest was still tight, and she felt it was imperative that they leave immediately, but with them beside her she felt grounded and significantly less panicky.

"Do you think Adelaide will join us?" Bae asked quietly, trying to distract herself, although she hadn't chosen a topic of conversation that had any chance of improving her mood.

She felt deeply betrayed by her sister and couldn't fathom why their relationship had fallen into such derision. Was it simply that Adelaide's feelings for Hisoka had gotten the better of the Chief Advisor or was there some greater unrest that Bae had failed to notice? Whatever had gone wrong had happened quickly, the damage done before Bae even knew there was an issue and so Bae was left feeling whiplashed.
