Chapter 120: Walking Down the Aisle

Aileen and I stood there in silence. I wanted to say something, but I couldn't think what to say. Nothing I could say could possibly help. Tallulah had practically sprung into the room, her arms full of flowers. She was singing to herself, completely oblivious to the sad looks that had been on both our faces, completely unaware of the carnage that sweet little girl had left in her wake. My father had walked in behind her and gave me the softest look I've ever seen.

"Oh Rory," he embraced me; "you look so beautiful."

"I..." I had turned away from looking at Ali, trying not to focus on the broken look on her face. "Thank you, daddy. I feel beautiful."

"Are you ready?" Lou asked me as she handed me my bouquet.

"I've never been more ready," I smile. This had felt like the purest, happiest moment of my life and it was only tainted by my concern for my sister. "Aileen?"
