Chapter 208: At Least I'm Your Jerk

At five thirty, Andrew pops his head round my door and asks me if I'm ready to go. I smile at him and start packing my stuff away.

"Landon asked me to go to his stag do on Saturday night," Andrew tells me as he waits for me.

"Aileen called me and invited me to Aurora's hen party," I tell him.

His eyes look for any sign of weakness.

"Are you going to go?"

"Yeah," I sigh. "Aurora's a friend. Forgetting the whole sister thing, she's still my friend."

Andrew nods understandingly. "I'm proud of you."

He kisses me on the forehead as I pull on my coat. There's a knock at my door. I pull away from Andrew and call to whoever is on the other side of my office door. Maya pokes her head round the door, mimicking her brother's actions from moments ago.

"Just wanted to give you these before you go," she says without looking at her brother. "I thought you might want to have a look over them before your meeting tomorrow."
