September comes quicker than I expected. Fortunately, my mother is around to help me, baby proof the new house. We've actually started to get along.
"So what's left to do?" I ask her from where I'm sat with my feet up on the stool in front of me.
"Nothing that can't wait. You have all the essentials."
"Thank you. I really appreciate your help..." I take a deep breath because this is big for me. "I'm glad I got to know you."
"I'm glad too."
I smile because it's completely one hundred percent true much to my surprise. That's when I feel it. My waters.
"It's a good job we've mostly done everything." I chuckle more to myself than anyone else. "My waters just broke."
"That's..." She's white. Anyone would think she hasn't given birth herself five times. "That's amazing. I'll call Andrew."
I nod. It takes a second for it to settle in.
