Chapter 324: She Doesn't Want to Marry Me

Jarrod's POV:

When I hang up the phone, I'm less p*ssed off than I had been when I first received the invitation. I don't really know what set me off, but I was f*cking livid.

Hearing her voice has calmed me some but I still feel a little... I still feel hella irritated. Logically I know that if last night hadn't have happened, none of this would be bothering me now.

If she wanted to marry me, nothing else would matter.

But she doesn't want to marry me.

That would be okay, if she'd been willing to talk about it. If she'd said more, I might have been able to process it better, rationalise it... but without a complete picture, I don't know what I'm supposed to think.

Does she not want to marry me right now or does she not want to marry me ever?

Those are two very different things. One is something I can live with, the other... well, I'm not sure. It's not that marriage is that important to me, it's not. It's just I want it. I want it with her.
