Chapter 414: I Could Run

My head is lulling against my chest, my hands tied behind my back. I'm cold. Freezing. Shivering. It's dark. I can't see anything at all. I can feel metal against my back. Corrugated.

Since I can't see, I try to focus on my other senses.

There's a dripping sound coming from my left but nothing else. Other than that one monotonous sound my ears meet silence.

I can smell... rust.

My head is pounding and my temple feels damp. I mentally run triage on my injuries. My head... my side... my ankle... I make a list but without at least some light, I have no way of knowing how severe they are.

The pain in my head is a dull ache but every little movement is enough to make me dizzy and nauseous. My ankle is throbbing - possibly sprained. But my side... that pain is sharper. The dampness of my clothes suggests blood.
