Tilly beamed at her. "Yes, it is," she said. "We've got our lives back. And it's all due to Kim and Steve."

She turned to look at them. They were standing at the other side of the table, heads down, in serious conversation with Johnny. "But we're going to need some way of re-establishing ourselves."

"What do you mean? Re-establish?"

"Well, neither of us has a driving licence anymore and our passports are, shall we say, out of date."

Becky began to laugh. "Right. I see what you mean."

"So we're not even in a position to drive our own cats to the vet."

Becky looked alarmed. "You're going to take all of them?" She glanced down at the kitten, which had gone to sleep in her lap.

"Oh, don't worry. Only to get their injections and things. But I'll probably put a notice up asking for homes for them."

"Oh," Becky said in a small voice.

Tilly smiled at her. "If you want that one, she's yours."
