World War II ended over four years ago for Joe Martinson and when he returned home to his little Indiana town, he hoped to forget the past and move on, but if you ask his father Henry, Joe never moved on and all he does is hide from the world behind the lens of his camera.
Joe is convinced he can exist in his quiet, uncomplicated life, burying the memory of all he faced, that is until he comes face to face with Elizabeth Thompson, his one true love from long ago. 
At a time when Joe and Elizabeth are lost in a world that seems to be changing before their eyes, they come face to face with their past, and the possibility of a future they never imagined.
As they rekindle their love affair, Elizabeth teaches Joe to confront the ghosts of war. She helps him find a life that was almost lost to him, but she also helps him tell his story, their story, which will forever change both of their lives.



Lost Sunrise

Joe awoke after dozing for several hours. As he rubbed his eyes, he could feel the bite of the cool morning air. He looked down to Elizabeth sleeping next to him. He pulled the blanket up around her. As he did, she stirred, but she didn't immediately awake. Joe got up and placed a few logs on the fire and fanned it, allowing the flames to build once again 


He lay back down with Elizabeth, trying his best not to wake her. He leaned in and softly kissed her on her shoulder. As he looked at her, he could see the sun's first rays on her face.


Joe fixed his gaze on the horizon; the sun slowly rose in the eastern sky, giving way to a sunrise that Joe knew he would never be able to match again. As he reveled at the memory of the night before and as the new day dawned, he felt as if that moment had been planned his entire life. 


As the sun crept further into the morning. Elizabeth opened her eyes. She lay there on her back looking up to him.
