Lost Sunrise

When Emma arrived back at the magazine on Monday two weeks later, she and Steven walked in together. Her article had been delivered to her editor before they had left Indiana, and as she walked into the office, a sense of calm washed over her. As she entered the staff area, she saw her editor sitting on the corner of another writer's desk. 


Steven looked to Emma and then in the direction of their editor. "Well, I guess I had better leave you to it. I think Gregg will want to talk to you as soon as he can."


She smiled at Steven. "You don't want to stay and see what he has to say?"


"No... I think I'll leave this one to you!"


Emma touched his arm. "Thank you-for everything."


Steven kissed her on the cheek, turned and walked away. She watched him as he went and then walked over to where her editor sat. "Morning, Gregg."


As he heard her voice, he quickly turned to meet her smile. "Emma! Welcome back. I was hoping I would see you this morning."
