Yuta finished rearranging the storage closet in the schoolroom. He rubbed his hands to get rid of the dust, satisfied with his labors. He felt guilty about abandoning his students, so he went over their projects individually before dismissing them, and he still dismissed them early. He was acting like a youngster planning a day at a festival!
As soon as they were gone, he took his small trunk to his study and fetched some rags from the cleaning cupboard in the kitchen. Then he carefully wiped it, inside and out, so that it wouldn't damage his clothing when he packed it.
In the workroom, he thought, he should find scraps of the light cotton from which he could fashion a liner and wrappings for his wardrobe.
