Mini-boss Appears

BOOM! A blast sounded and the area was covered with smoke and fire, but something weird happened… Through the fire and smoke, a figure walked out. His surrounding was covered in a translucent black sphere like a shield made of darkness.

After watching closely, one could see that the figure was clad in medieval armor from head to toe with two curved daggers in his hands. There was a visible dark aura surrounding him which imbued fear in anyone watching him. Then… he moved…

MC POV…

My shield flared and protected me from the explosion I was not able to dodge in time. Although there were minor unnoticeable cracks on it due to the explosion. I think my shield's defense is able to protect me from a bazooka at the current level.

' I underestimated them, even after the Apocalypse they are strong. Even a Lion uses everything he has to hunt a rabbit, I may be strong but I need to give it my all to defeat all of them.' I sped through the front lines and reached the ones who were using the grenade launchers. After cutting through their ranks easily, it was time to finish them once and for all. 

Black flashes passed through the thugs who were clustered in the area, blood-splattered, the hallway was filled with mutilated body parts and blood was flowing like water. After five minutes of screams and gunshots, they ceased, what left was the sound of the night and the shivering of the alive.

It looked like a God of death passed through the camp, harvesting the lives of the wicked. When suddenly, a rumble was heard with the fierce sound of a Minigun in tow. 

A buff man with scars on his cheeks and most of the body burst through a gate with a minigun. The shield covered my body from harm, but I jumped to hide from the onslaught of bullets in the narrow hallway.

I used my strength and burst through the sidewall, into a room. Then used "Stealth" to hide and jumped through the roof above me, reaching the next floor. I used my area sense to locate the perpetrator who was most likely the boss of the camp and ambushed him from behind, Jumping behind him and beheading him before he could turn around.

But… my dagger struck something hard, my instincts told me to jump back from the upcoming danger, I jumped back while turning around to see, what made my instinct flare-up? What I saw… could only be described as hideous! 

It was more ugly than any monster I fought until now. It had a deformed human head with scars on its cheek, it had a hideous mouth with big sharp teeth on its chest. The muscle on its body we're bulging and becoming big as they slowly tore the skin of the body, it was the boss of the camp.

I saw there was a broken vial on the ground with some drops of dark red liquid near it. The boss must have consumed something most probably something related to Zombies and now he was transforming into a monster.

I asked the system about it, and the System said, " The human is mutating into a half undead creature after he drank the blood of a high rank mutated zombie. He will slowly go insane after half an hour but till then he will be able to think like a human. He can be a tough opponent and if you underestimate him you might get severely injured or in the worst case..die."

'Well, that's not good, but how did he know that drinking the blood of a mutated zombie will make him strong. I don't think I will find the reason but at least I know about it now.'

BOSS POV…

I was hiding in a hole in the forest ground, in front of me, a group of Rhinos was stampeding towards a monster, who was made of flesh and was 20 ft high. A Rhino's horn pierced his flesh and some of his dark blood dropped on the ground.

But the monster just picked up the Rhino and tore him in half before throwing it aside. The same thing happened to others also, they were massacred as the monster punched them and tore them easily. After that, he proceeded to eat them while taking the rest of the corpses to a cave.

I was exhausted and after he went away, I covered myself in soil and slept there. When I woke up, I started to slowly move the dirt which was on me. Suddenly I heard something and paused, then I saw a group of rabbits jumping around and one of them was going towards a dark red spot like it was entranced towards it.

I could see it was the monster's blood. The rabbit licked it and then he stopped, suddenly he started to grow and his skin tore open while his muscle kept bulging. The tiny rabbit was now around 4ft in height. It started to kill and devour the other rabbits with a predator's ferocity.

After killing all of them, he proceeded to sniff the air. And then suddenly turned towards my location, I was startled and took out my Machine gun to protect myself. The mutated rabbit ran at me with very fast speed, he crossed the distance of almost 100 meters in nearly 5 seconds.

I aimed my rifle at his head and proceeded to empty my magazine aiming at his head. Before dying, it jumped at me and cut my cheeks before I could dodge. I collected the monster's blood and proceeded back to the camp.

Today, a monster was massacring through our camp, I took my minigun and the vial of blood with me and burst through the door firing at him. Some kind of dark shield protected him from the bullets, and he burst through the sidewall. I could still feel his gaze on me, and I knew he was far stronger than me and I had no way to win, so I drank the vial without any hesitation, and at that moment something hit my throat hard but whatever it was it couldn't cut through it.

MC POV…

Darkness started to gather around my daggers and I used "Dark slash" while simultaneously using "flash step" and "float" to run behind him to search for his weak point.

I used "Appraisal" on him,

My agility was 70 points higher than him but my End was 40 points less than and that was due to my passive skill "Death Eater". If he would have transformed before I slaughtered his goons I would not have survived this monster. But on second thought, that would probably not have happened because he probably used it as a last resort.

I used "Dark sense" to spot his weak spot or where his core was. There were two black spots in his body, one in his now highly deformed head and the other where his grotesque mouth and his heart was.

I used "sharpen" and instinctively concentrated as much dark element I could on the tip of my dagger. The monster roared and started running toward me, his feet sinking in the floor, the surroundings shook every time he took a step.

Despite being heavy and clumsy, he was surprisingly fast. My instincts were screaming as he and I ran towards each other. Just as I reached near him, I turned both my daggers in front grip while at their tip was compressed dark element which would explode if it touched him.

My dagger struck him at the demonic mouth on his chest but before it could reach there, he jumped forward while punching towards my head. Due to my momentum, I couldn't slow down or I would be punched before I even reach him. It was a Do or die situation.

I kept going when suddenly I felt my speed and perception increasing, I could see the punch coming towards me in slow motion. I ducked under his punch but the monster didn't even react, I pumped my daggers with more dark element and thrust it towards the mouth on the chest.

Just as the dagger touched the chest, a blast transpired and I was thrown backward with my shield flaring. Due to the blast being made of darkness I took no damage and the shockwaves were blocked by my shield.

But the monster's core inside his mouth was destroyed and one of his hands was hanging down from just a little muscle. However, it started regenerating slowly at a speed that could be seen by a naked eye.

I didn't waste my time contemplating it. I just sped up, far faster than before, I used "Parallel Thinking" before starting to using my different skills to prepare for the "Dark Cross Slash" while using Dead Man's pyre and Gaze of death on him to stop him from regenerating and to stop him from attacking me.

I completed my preparation and used "Dark Cross Slash" on him which was more powerful than before due to my increased speed. I slashed my daggers in a cross shape while they were covered in darkness.

A cross slash composed of dark elements sped through the air at a fast speed dissecting the monster in the blink of an eye. His head dropped on the ground with his neck muscle squirming around to connect to the surrounding pieces of flesh.

I concentrated darkness at the tip of my dagger before inserting it into his head, which blasted from the inside. I got a notification for the exp and an Epic equipment card.

"System, why did my speed increase suddenly?"

" You were lucky that your skill "Flash step" upgraded and became "Afterimage step" that you were able to win that easily."

" That means, Luck is quite useful after all, my Luck stat is 80 currently which is quite good. Now, System can you recommend me a skill which can make me look like a human?"
