Meeting someone Familiar

After three days of killing zombies and convincing different surviving camps to join us. I was at the last surviving human camp with over 200 Males, and females under 40 years of age equipped with guns and ration.

The last camp was a multi-story building that was secured, I felt the surroundings were a little familiar but I couldn't remember it certainly, so I left that aside.

I could spot the survivors on the roof of the building using binoculars to identify us. I felt that I saw some familiar faces but I couldn't point it out exactly.

I used my skill "Eagle Eyes" to discern their appearance. There were 4 women and 7 men whom two of them were black. While two of the girls looked like teens, as for the other two - one of them had short brown hair and the other one had long red hairs.

I could see that some of them were panicking while some of them were yelling at each other, although I could not hear their voices I could still read their lip movements to discern what they were talking about?

It looked like a man with a frown on his face was blaming our arrival on the woman with short hairs while some of them were trying to defend her. Suddenly, the man targeted a gun at the woman and she also did the same. Most of the other survivors also took her side and targeted their guns towards the man.

It felt like Deja vu, I could feel that I saw this scene happening somewhere but I still couldn't point it out. Until a cord suddenly struck in my mind, I slowly started to combine the key points. Like Zombies, Mutated Zombies, modern setting, and the thing that system said about dungeons being copies of alternate worlds.

' That meant it could even be a copy of a movie or a game or a tv show. And if it was true, that meant that short-haired girl was Alice from the resident evil movie. And if I recall correctly this setting was from the last movie where they were to find the antidote for the virus made by the Umbrella corporation.

But, there were some things that we're different like I never saw an Umbrella corporation poster or welcome to Raccoon city board… could it be that the system changed the setting of the world after copying it to make it random, and not let me use my future knowledge to pass through this dungeon easily.

But it could also be to make it favorable for me by making it so that I could gain something by this. Hmm! It could be either of the scenarios or both at the same time. '

After going through all these things in my mind at a fast speed I turned my attention back to the quarreling group. It looked like they had now a tacit understanding between themselves to first attend to the problem at the front.

One of them took a megaphone and said, "STOP RIGHT THERE ALL OF YOU! IF YOU TRY TO COME NEAR THE BUILDING, WE HAVE ENOUGH GASOLINE TO TORCH ALL OF YOU! "

After the warning, I lifted my arms signaling everybody to stop. I calmly took my megaphone and said, "It's a misunderstanding, we are not here to attack or pillage, we are here to gather more survivors to fight and finally end this apocalypse. We have found the source, and if we destroy it, the apocalypse will stop and we will win."

I could see their faces changing in an expression of visual shock, even Alice was momentarily stumped by this information but she regained her bearings almost instantly.

I could see Alice narrowing her eyes at me like she wanted to read me to know whether I was right or wrong. She could see me even from that height, T-Virus truly was powerful.

" How will we know that you are telling the truth and not just for luring us out and attacking us? Do you have any proof? " Asked the same person who did earlier.

" I have seen the monster with my own eyes and saw how his blood could start the plague. I don't have any proof to show you but we can talk face-to-face if you want, only you guys and me, not any of the others with me. If you take that as an assurance. " I used this method to assure them that I truly was not a threat. And they seemed to buy that.

" Ok, we can talk face-to-face but only you will be allowed to get in, if any of the others try to take a step we will open fire. And keep your arms in the air all the time so that we could see them. Now slowly step forward. " 

I saw a gate being opened, it was only wide enough to fit a single person at a time, it was a good idea to keep zombies or humans out. If anything bad happened they could easily close the gate even manually.

I signaled the people with me to not make any suspicious movements and I assured them that I will be okay. I started to walk forward slowly while keeping my arms in the air.

As I reached the gate, I could see a person standing at the side of the gate, away from the line of sight of people standing outside. He had a pump shotgun in his hands, due to my high senses I could see that he was ready to fire a shot at a moment's notice. 

I contemplated that I could probably kill him before he would manage to take a shot but it was still a 50-50 chance, still I would not be injured due to it. 

But killing him was not my goal, after all due to my years of expertise as an international spy, I have learned to use my patience to complete my jobs. 

He signaled me to walk in front while he was pointing at my back from an appropriate distance so that I could not disarm him or attack him physically due to distance. I could probably jump to sides but even that was not feasible because we were currently walking in a narrow corridor.

Which was plated by metal on both sides, they have made quite good preparations for any type of normal human or zombie attack. But I was not normal after all.

After going through the lift and reaching the appropriate floor, I was greeted with a room which was some type of conference room. There were 16 people inside it, I was signaled to stand aside and lower my arms after they checked me for any hidden weapons.

Obviously, they couldn't find any because I had mine in my inventory. After a few seconds, the guy who was blaming Alice pointed his gun at me, " I don't know what game you are playing but if you believe you can outplay us all and take our supplies then you are delusional! You know what, it's better if I kill you here and now than to take risk of leaving you alive and getting ourselves killed."

He was trying to play the intimidation game so that he could make me say the truth, but before anyone could react I snatched the gun out of his hand and shot 5 times.

I could see Alice's finger stopping on the trigger without firing before anyone could even react to the situation. My bullets passed near his crotch, armpits, and neck, successfully tearing a hole in his clothes and leaving his eyes wide open in fear.

I lowered the gun while dismantling it into pieces in mere seconds, while everybody was pointing their guns at me about to fire at me when Alice stopped them, " Stop all of you, nobody was injured and it was Matt's fault to point his gun at him without even hearing what he had to say. " 

Claire supported her friend, " Alice is right, it was his fault first. Let's leave it aside for now and hear what he has to say first?" Everyone slowly lowered their arms silently agreeing at the point.

Claire turned towards me asking me what I had to say? I started my story, explaining to them, how we were a group of survivors who decided to help normal people in the apocalypse. When one day we were trying to search for food, we found a monster that was very big and was quite strong. We saw that any living thing in its surrounding area was slowly mutating just due to it being there.

We came to the decision that this monster could be the cause of this apocalypse or might be just one of the causes. Anyway, he was quite important if we wanted to search for an antidote or the Apocalypse cause.

After that, we started to rescue more and more people to join our cause. I was the leader of the group. One day we went against a big survivor camp which was filled with murderers and rapists, we lost many of our people. Only a few survived the initial onslaught after we thought we won, the boss suddenly came out and drank a vial of dark red liquid, transforming into a massive and hideous monster.

All others died, only I was left after defeating the monster…, " Wait a minute! You are saying you defeated the monster that nobody was able to! How can we believe that's true? You could be just making up a story. "

" I know it sounds fake but I don't know how, one day when I woke up I had increased speed, strength, stamina, and healing factor. I was easily able to overpower most of the monsters that normal humans couldn't fight. But even for me, that fight was hard and I was able to survive due to luck" which was partly true as if not for the sudden increase in my speed I would have been severely injured if not die.

" It's not believable that you just woke up and…" the black man said when suddenly Alice interjected, " I believe him." 

"What?!" Most of them were surprised by that but I knew she thought of me as another experimental subject but wait a minute… if there was no Umbrella corp then how did Alice came to be? Could it be that the System just changed certain things and while also keeping the plot together, it might be that he just played with their memories or something? After all, they are just copies of the real ones.

" I believe him too." Claire also said supporting Alice because she also knew about umbrella corp and T-virus. Everybody stopped asking questions after their leader, which was Claire Redfield, spoke.

She instructed me to keep going on, " After defeating that monster I rescued the people and children who were trapped there starting my new team. We slowly added different camps to our cause and now we are here to ask you guys to join us."

Everybody was thinking when Alice said, " I will join you." Claire also agreed, slowly everyone agreed to join me. It was surely a surprise that I found a good character to fight for me. Alice was a very good fighter, due to her long experience of fighting zombies and being enhanced by T-Virus she could prove to be very useful in defeating the boss.

It was time for the plan to commence…

After the next chapter, he will finally go to the Marvel world and this volume will end. But for now we have Finally reached more than 16k words after this chap, so start voting guys.
