Chapter 27: Alone, Part 3

Andie stepped away from the revolving door, terrified, but quickly realized that the seemingly animated cadaver was stuck, forcing its body weight against the revolving door in the wrong direction.Andie leaned against the glass windows and watched as unconscious body after unconscious body rose from the sidewalk, walking and moving stiffly like a partially defrosted caveman trapped in a glacier. She leaned her head against the cool glass and tears raced down her cheek at the thought of never seeing Chris again.

Suddenly, Chris stepped around the corner and stood on the sidewalk just across the street.Andie, exhausted but rejuvenated by the sight of him, slammed her fists against the window to gain his attention. She was so relieved to see him and even more relieved when she realized that he saw her too.Chris crossed the street and walked closer to her, the recently awakened unconscious payed no attention to him.
