"Just sort of appeared didn't he?" said Geoff. "And no one knows him, right? Does he have a bandanna or dark glasses?" Someone answered the latter. "Have you looked behind them? Have you ever seen his eyes? Where they would have been, I mean?"

"I saw them," said Kim. "They were scarred... scabby... gross."

"Stitched shut, right?" said Geoff shortly. "Don't feel sorry for him. He did it to himself. Or he let it happen." As he reached to his beer and sipped it, the odd tattoo on his hand came into view.
