"At any rate, some new influence arrived, maybe one of the cults of the African diaspora, maybe just old Cajun-country voodoo. The bayou country is the richest place in the United States for occult influences. A rival to 'Prince Pascal' did indeed take over this group, proclaim Randolph an outlaw, hold yearly rituals of demonizing - at which he donned the 'beard'-fetish made from the locks of Adam Degree - and called the pair back to do occult battle with himself and some demonic ally. Their perpetual failure to manifest did not hurt his standing as the new heavyweight champ. This ritual may even have been incorporated into the local Christian worship, maybe for a cult of Moses or Solomon.
