Chapter 128: The Hound of Heaven, Part 128

SHORT STORY of WARD COURIER: "The Ho-Ho Killers,"

Continued

From the story collection "A Ghosthunter's Journal" (1999) by Ward Courier under the pen name Mason Winfield

A special handful of cases haunted him, revolving their fetid details in his head like the chorus of a popular song long past the point of irritation. Photographs of victims, sonorous names and locations, murder-details... What was there about them? He could still recall them.

In Oregon, a former boy scout leader - portly, single, fiftiesh, and evidently a violent pederast - was found in his basement with many blade-wounds. The search for his killer took an unfunny turn when a number of male bodies - boys and teenagers, probably runaways or hitchhikers - turned up under his back lawn.
