Chapter 102

No one knew that Grayson was meeting Marcus, except Hal. He had begged him not to go alone, but Grayson was always true to his word. Besides, it would just be him and Marcus... and Marcus wasn’t much of a threat alone.

Marcus was waiting for him when Grayson pulled his Mercedes to a stop in the parking lot of his townhouse.

Grayson pulled his car into a parking spot a short distance from where Marcus’ car set. But when Grayson got out and started across to Marcus, Piers stepped out of the car.

“What are you doing here?” Grayson asked, freezing where he stood.

Piers smirked but said nothing.

A self-satisfied smug spread across Marcus’ face. “I heard that he needed a job, and I needed a personal bodyguard.”

“You still have protection from the Crown,” Grayson said. As a part of the Royal Family, Marcus was under the protection of the Crown. As such, bodyguards would be furnished for him for life.

Marcus shrugged. “I needed someone who couldn’t be bought.”
