Chapter 52: Eddie's choice

Eduardo Chavez pulled on a pair of sweats and stumbled toward the bathroom, inspecting his arms he saw numerous thin lacerations leaving trails of red. He emptied his bladder and moved in front of the bathroom sink mirror. His face was cat-scratched in a slanted pattern, and his nose was blood caked and swollen. His vision was cloudy which resulted in difficulty in examining his one puffy eye.Lifting an eye lid using his index finger and thumb, he witnessed broken blood vessels that must have occurred during the pursuit of the female victim. It was if, the victim conspired with the trees, transformed herself into a wild animal and caused all these injuries. How was that possible, he mused? He muttered to himself.

You is crazy Eddie, trees can't move, and people is people.
