A week passes by but no sign of government movement. I'm starting to think that I was overreacting but gut feeling is never wrong. I stare out my bedroom window. It's the only thing that's left to calm my nerves down. The soft sun shining in my face makes me feel my aging has slow down.
My stomach starts to feel like there a thousands of needle poking. I bite my lip and slowly kneel to the floor. My right grabbing the curtain preventing me from sudden collapse. At the very least, that's what I thought. The bedroom door burst open. I tilt my head slightly. "Why? What's wrong? Let me help you get up."
Jack tries to get me up from crouching but I nod my head. It's too painful. He tries one more time and I get up. My visions are blurry, my body is shaking. "Vi?"
Jack picks me up in bridal style and brings me to my bed. He sits down next to my bed with his hand in mine. Jack pushes back my hair from covering my whole face.
I hear footsteps rushing to my direction. I know this voice. I don't even bother to tilt my head up to see who. I can hear the sound of bottle of medicine. Just what I needed.
"My Vi, can you sit up please? I want you take this pill," he is always extra soft when i'm this sick. I nod my head but he force me too. "It's too painful if I move. The way I'm laying down is already helping the pain."
"I help you get up alright? You can't drink lying down. Also, it's going to be hard for you to swallow this pill," the urge to cry is in my throat already. He gives me a pleading smile and I surrender. My left hand hugging my stomach and the other pushing my body to sit up. He grabs my waist and pulls my body up. My body is still shaking. I let my body collapse onto him right away after done chugging the pill down.
"What happened? Are you sick? Do you need a medical checkup?"
"Probably just stress and anxiety stomach reaction. How did you know?"
"Soul connection," I smile at his response. Jack runs his finger through my hair softly. "Ack!" his finger accidentally pull my tangled hair. He lets out a small laugh.
Feels like days have passby and still no sign of anything. The Victorian party still will be held regardless. I feel like I should stop being aware of the government and move on with my life.
I stop playing my phone and massage my stomach. I sit up from laying on the red velvet couch , massaging my stomach. It feels very uncomfortable. Not painful but uncomfortable. I rush to the toilet without caring who I accidentally bump. I lock my bedroom door. 'Ah, no wonder.' My brain spoke. No wonder my stomach has been painful the past 3 days. That time of the month has arrive. It hurts more now. I curse under my breath and get things done quickly.
I feel fatigue after 15 minutes. My eyes shut as I feel every inch of my body against the soft fluffy bed covers. I hear someone whispers for my name. My eye is barely open. "Ack!!!" I growl in pain. Jack was biting my cheeks.
"I didn't know how else to wake you up. Why aren't you getting ready for the party? Don't you remember its really important?"
I didn't answer and I pull his hand to my stomach. "Its fine. I'll stay here with you."
"I still want to do it though," I sigh deeply.
" We can do it here. I'll go get the stuff and I'll call Adrien," Jack quickly gets up and walk out the door. The sound of jazz and people enjoying the night is heard clearly. The sound that I actually enjoy. It's so peaceful.
Suddenly, the sound of glass smashing is heard. People starting to screaming. I force myself to get up. Before I knew it, Jack opens the door and signals me to keep quiet. Colours from my face has drain. This isn't good. He grabs my hand and opens the toilet door. Jack press a very small button on the wall behind the bathtub and the floor starts to move fast. He gets in and signal me to come down as well. I look up and the floor moves back.
He grabs me and hug me tight more than ever he did."They're here. They're arresting every Reaper. Your intuition was right."
