Trust is a double-edged sword

Sein's POV

Oh how her white hair caught the moon's radiance, billowing with elegance along the midnight air's breeze. Here she was, my canvas of broken things' muse. Out of everything in this world that had shattered, she glows the brightest.

As she stared at me with vacant eyes, her face was the exact epitome of agony.

'Poor little bird, you have suffered so much.'

There was so much beauty in her misery.

That I could not help but want to break her more.

I tilted my head to the side to take a better look at her, lifting a hand to cup her tearstained cheek gently. Just as I had always done to make her fall for me. To make her fall for my game.

"Do you understand now?" I said softly, faking a worried tone. "I am the only one who truly loves you."

A brief confusion flashed across her face. But she nodded. She was lifeless, an empty husk seeped out of feeling.
