Chapter 11

Dark green leaflets crunch as the short sound of footsteps creep forward one by one. Panning out, we see three sets of fresh footprints left there, advancing forward into the ambient forest. The makers of these marks were made by no other than Captain Chenyo's three-man squadron, which consisted of Alex, Harry, and no other than Chenyo himself. Their slow advance is stopped when Chenyo suddenly signals them to stop, and they follow him into a bush, where he explains their current situation.

"Sir, what's wrong? Why have we stopped?" Harry whispers

"It seems we've arrived at our destination… I need you two to be extremely quiet from here on out, and no matter what you see or hear, do not take action unless I tell you to you hear?" Chenyo explains

They both respond with a nod and they follow him again and find an underground passageway hidden in the trees. Meanwhile, Adir is back at base with Miss Flaskin and is listening to her long talk, and finally interrupts.

"Ma'm, you've told me about these magic-monster things, but do they have a name?"

"Oh, but of course dear! They are known as apparitions, though they have many other names, we normally call them apparitions. You're still probably wondering why you need to know all of this, and the answer to that is quite simple really, you'll be learning thread magic by fighting these apparitions."

Adir quickly processes this information and asks her one last question.

"So where should I go?" Adir says with a smirk

Miss Flaskin smiles back and the two leave the bar and start walking. Meanwhile, back in the forest, the squadron of three is entering the underground passageway, and they walk into a colossal forked hallway, forked into three separate sections. They see guards up ahead and Chenyo signals them to take cover behind a cluster of large, metallic barrels. Chenyo whispers to them and says,

"On my signal, you two are going to take out the guards in front of us and we'll advance with on into the middle passage with the M.E.G gear okay?"

Alex and Harry nod their heads and they wait a moment. The guards slowly walk towards them and tension builds up inside of Alex and Harry, until finally, Chenyo signals them, and they quickly take the two guardsmen with relative ease. Immediately after, Chenyo jumps out, signals them and they all activate their M.E.G's, and they fly through the air, with the silent swishing sounds of the movement gear bouncing in between them.

They follow Chenyo's lead, and as they flew for what felt like an agonizing eternity, their stoic captain signals them to halt to an abrupt stop, and they land safely back onto the ground. They see that the hallway leads to another path on the right, and they glance at the edge of the hall, spying at what's lying there on the other side. Chenyo reaches into his pocket and pulls out a tape recorder, and they listen to what's happening on the other side.

"Sir Krankzin, we have a new candidate for the T-C experiment, would you like to see her?"

The man who was supposedly referred to as Krankzin begins to speak, with his voice being very rough and coarse.

"Of course, of course, bring her in! I'm already getting excited!" The man says, and he lets out a freakish giggle.

They listen on and they hear a lady muffle on the other side. Alex and Harry's emanate horror and they begin swirling with emotions, with Alex almost screaming out, but the Captain stopping him. They view over the corner as the man takes off the young-looking woman's gag. He addresses her and says,

"What is your name lady?"

The woman looks at him in fear and responds quietly, with her voice gradually raising.

"My name is Rosa… Can I please go home? This must be a mistake, I have a child back home!"

"No no, that just won't do now Rosa, see we need something from you, and you can go back to your child after okay? Now put the gag back on and put her in the chamber."

The lady struggles but to no avail, with her cries for help eventually being snuffed out by the gag and they place her in the chamber. On the contrary, Adir, and Miss Flaskin step out of a car, and Adir asks her a question in a complaining tone.

"Miss Flaskin, why do I have to wear this uniform, and what are we doing at a school?"

Flaskin chuckles lightly and responds to his question,

"I apologize, I didn't fully explain the mission! Your goal is to befriend a young lady named Adrianne Stevren and eliminate the apparition located around her. Her parents have amassed quite a wealth, and her mother was the one to have personally asked us to do this. Apparently, magic is something that runs in their family but it skips a generation. The daughter hasn't a clue about her magic, and as a result, she's been forming an apparition of an unknown level."

Adir processes all that she's said to him and asks her one last question.

"But ma'am how am I supposed to learn thread magic in this mission?"

She looks at him with a blank expression and finally realizes her mistake and hands him a bracelet.

"My brain really is blanking today… You have to wear this bracelet, while you're wearing it, your magic is going to be sucked in and will create threads, by the end of the mission you should be able to just pick up on how to use thread magic pretty quickly. Oh and by the way, you have one week to complete this mission, so get going okay!"

Adir nods his head, puts on the bracelet, and walks into the school. After hearing all of this information, what's waiting up ahead for Adir? What are apparitions, and will this mission be easy? What's going to happen to Chenyo's squad, and what's the T-C experiment? Will Alex and Harry succumb to their emotions, or pull through with the mission...
