Ron didn't have that kind of money. That was a given. As to earning it…It was impossible. He didn't have the slightest clue on where to start to get so much money. It was far beyond his capabilities. He could only give up.

He asked the teacher: "What about the first augment?"

The teacher looked at him and answered: "Should be around 1 million but it's better to buy them all at once since they give you a better price"

Around 1 million… Ron looked at the other students. Those kids all came from wealthy families? It was an eye-opener. And a big cold slap. It made him remember that he was being sent to his death.

Augments were available only to those that could pay. He wasn't part of that group yet it seemed like they expected him to be. No, maybe they knew he would never be able to do so and did this expecting such an outcome. Their goal was for him to die after all. Not being able to buy those augments would lead to potential risks of him dying during training. If he survived the school lessons, he would still fail them. After two years, he might be driven out.

There were many possibilities but they all led to one direction: death.

And right now, he couldn't come up with a solution. Money didn't grow on trees. Even if he still had the diamonds and sold them, it wouldn't have been enough.

There was nothing he could do so he said: "I don't have enough money"

The teacher looked at him incredulously before he replied: "Then, I guess, you can only buy the first augment for now"

Ron shook his head and added: "I don't have enough for the first one"

The teacher frowned. He never thought such a thing would ever be possible but then again, this kid had yet to lie. He sighed and said: "Go to the faculty and ask the enrollment department. I can't do anything about it. There's no need for you to come to my lessons until you have received some augments"

Ron nodded and left. There really wasn't a point to him staying here. That much, he agreed with. As for going to the enrollment department…He didn't think they would give him a solution. Miracles didn't happen that easily. He was still going to go there though since there was nothing to lose.

Meanwhile, the lesson continued. After the students exchanged for a few more rounds, the teacher told them to switch sparring partners.

Celine bowed to her two opponents who were glaring at her. She was used to such reactions and not bothered in the slightest. She got ready to search for two new opponents but was stopped by her teacher. She wondered if he was finally going to be her sparring partner. She asked him many times and he always refused, even though he was the only one who could provide her with some worth in sparring.

She expectantly waited for him to tell her the great news. Yet, he spoke about something else: "I thought of what to teach you since the first semester, Celine. You're already far stronger than the others and honestly, I don't see what I could give that you didn't already have. But I found it"

She looked at him eagerly and couldn't help but grinningly ask: "Are you sparring with me?"

The teacher looked at her with surprise before laughing. He shook his head sideways and told her: "No. There wouldn't be much point to it. Instead, I want to teach you something you lack"

She frowned at him. She didn't consider herself perfect and believed there would always be something more to learn but that didn't mean she considered herself to be lacking. She didn't quite like the way he said it.

He didn't notice nor cared about her feelings as he continued: "Your new partner, Ron, is quite a problematic student. Your goal for this semester will be to teach him enough to be on par with you or, at the very least, the other students"

She looked at the teacher incredulously. Was he pushing his work onto her? What lacking? He was just being a lazy fuck! She was ready to let out her anger scream for her but he stopped her by continuing his speech: "You know how to fight and it can't be questioned. But you have yet to understand why we are fighting. Go and help him, it will teach you something important you haven't comprehended yet"

She replied coldly: "I disagree"

He chuckled and retorted: "And yet, it is the truth"

She added: "I don't want to"

He laughed as he continued: "You don't have a choice. Your final grade will depend on him since he is your partner now"

She fell to her knees as the revelation struck her. In combat lessons, the partners were given the same grade… That little bitch was clearly too weak to get a good one which meant that even if she was the top ranker, she wouldn't receive the top rank! She couldn't let such a thing happen. She was the strongest. She had to graduate at the top constantly.

Then, she began to wonder if the teacher didn't do this on purpose. Putting her in a partnership with this fucker might have been a scheme of his. Was he so reluctant to spar with her himself?

She glared at him while her fists were tightly clenched and she asked: "Where is he?"

The teacher smiled and pointed behind himself: "Enrollment faculty. Anyways, I grant you the privilege of not attending my classes until you have succeeded so, go, and have some fun"

With clenched fists, she walked out of the training grounds. Her sight was dyed red as her anger meter reached new heights.

Since she didn't have a choice, she would make sure that he wouldn't be dead weight. For her dream, she had to graduate as the top scorer.

At the same time, the teacher was grinning. Celine was the best solution to this problematic student. Done with this, he went back to moving between the groups and teaching them how to fight.
