~Chapter 9~

Urgh. I stared at the clothes piled up on my bed. Running a hand through my hair, I released a frustrated sigh. You see, I have my interview scheduled for today. But... I was too tired yesterday to pick out clothes to wear and now it seems as though nothing is worthy enough to be worn. I don't think R&C would appreciate it if I came for a job appointment naked. Thinking of the next best solution, I dialed Jojo's number. As usual, she picked up on the first ring.

" Hey, Annie" I could hear Iris giggling in the background as she tried to exchange pleasantries using her mum's phone.

" Hi, Iris. Oh and Jojo I need your help"

" Are you fine, hungry, tired, sleepy, angry, upset, sad....? Ask away sissy"

I shook my head, before remembering that she couldn't see me.

" What the hell....."

" I'm just making sure. So what's the problem? Why do you need my services?"

" I have an interview today" I pulled the phone away from my ear and waited for her to squeal. This was exactly why I didn't tell her earlier, I wouldn't have if it wasn't for my dilemma. Drama queen much...

" OK, so what do you need my help with? A Pep talk, my car, my résumé? Ask away"

I facepalmed and let her comments slide.

" I don't know what to wear so can you calm your horses and come to my house to help me pick out some clothes. Apparently, going out naked is Indecent dressing." She chuckled and hung up.

I stared at the pile again, before going to the living room to wait for Jojo's arrival. If I don't let her in on time, she'll probably bring down the door, and the house if need be. Getting to the living room, I almost jumped out of my skin upon seeing Jojo sprawled up on the couch. How on earth did she manage to get here so quickly, it wasn't even up to 10 minutes.

" Geez, Annie quit squealing. Did you see a ghost or something.... Close your mouth and blink? You widened your eyes and honestly, it's really creepy" She said nonchalantly, sitting upright.

" Are you trying to kill me? What's with the heart attack? Couldn't you have at least, made yourself known upon your arrival?"

I fiddled with my fingers to stop myself from lashing out. It's been confirmed, my sister is trying to kill me, and trust me, I'm not exaggerating.

" I have your spare keys remember?" She dangled the keys in front of her face, for emphasis.

" I forgot. But why did you decided to sprawl on my couch, you resembled the life-sized version of a cat"

" An incredibly sexy cat" She purred and batted her lashes at me.

" Ewwwwwwwww. Save that for Ray m'kay?" I instructed, walking to the bedroom with her striding beside me. Ignoring her gushing about how my sentences rhymed.

" So I heard you're in a dilemma. Hmmmmm" Jojo stroked her non-existent goatee.

I groaned and slapped my palm across my forehead. " Of course you heard, I told you!"

" Ummm whatever" She paid no attention as she rummaged through my closet. I sat on a bean bag and scrolled through my phone before she called out again.

" This is absolutely useless, don't you have more clothes?"

I pointed to the bed on top of the bed, not bothering to look up from my phone.

" Do you only wear sweat pants and faded jeans? I really don't understand your fashion sense" She complained, also frustrated.

" Hence, why I need your help great sensei." I rolled my eyes. I hated to admit how right my sister was. Most of my previous clothes were about two-three sizes too big, I had lost an incredible amount of weight since I bought them. Before, I didn't have to worry about what to wear because I was always stuck inside. But now I did.

" You have the world's best fashionista as a sister and all these is the best you could come up with. I hate to form you sissy, but you'll have to go for your interview naked after all. " She slumped unto my bed, feigning distress.

" I guess there's a first time for everything. Will I really get arrested for indecent dressing?" I stared into space, thinking.

" And give the parentals a heart attack. I don't think so. Try this" She dumped some clothes on my head, leaving the bedroom.

I slipped out of my pj's, skeptical about what she has chosen. It was a herringbone-patterned pencil skirt, a long-sleeved V-neck plain shirt, and T-strapped heels to complete the pair.

" Thank goodness it fits perfectly, that's the best thing you have in your closet" She clicked her tongue at me. It wasn't bad, my full body mirror confirmed that.

" Thank you, Jojo"

" That's what sisters do. I'll leave you to get ready, as I try to come up with how to get myself a loan. You need a shopping spree."

As I good person, I should probably snap my fingers in her face to bring her down to earth and stop her from running into debt. But... I'm really not a good person so I watched my precious weird drama queen of an elder sister walkout. Glancing at the clock, which hung up on the wall. I noticed the hour I still had left, before the clock chimes and before it's noon when my interview ought to begin.

A box at the corner of the living caught my eye. I wasn't completely done unpacking, but my living condition was much more better than it was a few weeks ago. Some boxes were still scattered around, but that was because I wasn't interested in moving them. They had scrapbooks and photo albums. I remembered instructing the movers to handle the boxes with care as they were fragile. My dear ex-husband had insisted that I left his house with everything about me, pictures included. Maybe that's what I needed to complete my assignment for this week. I was to relive the memories I had with Alex, what better way to do that than through pictures?
