Days later!
You were on patrol with kris, and Mitch since you guys seem to work better than the est since hannah always complained about Mitch.
"Gonna admit, you do look more of a Mitch now that you did 3 days ago" you said as Mitch was driving the van near some glitch signatures that came from the radar.
"Tha—... what! What is that supposed to mean!?" Mitch said as he looked to his right at you then back at the road, but you stayed quiet looking at your gauntlet seeing the little glitch signatures.
"Glitch signatures detected" the automated voice said on kris' gauntlet.
"Whoa, check it out, you guys. We got a whole bunch of glitch signatures over on stanz Avenue!" Kris said as Mitch kept in on the conversation.
"Ooh, what's it look like, bud? Zombie herd? Orc army? The flood?" You said sat down wanting to know what it is.
"Actually, they're—-" Kris said as Mitch gasps before slamming in the breaks as everyone almost got launched out of their seats, but thanks to the seatbelts that didn't happen.
"Oh, no. Then" Mitch said looking at front as you looked at him then at the directon her was looking to see a lot of kittens, as they all meowed.
"I want to take them home and cuddle-crush them until their eyes burst" you said as Mitch sat with his arms crossed not pleased about the situation as kris leaned over the the front seats.
"They're from itty bitty kitty collector, my favourite kitty collection game! My number two being litter glitter kittysitter, obvi." Kris said as you got out of the van to get closer to the cute little things.
"Of course you love those games. Just like this patrol, they're complete waste of time." Mitch said before getting out of the van slamming the door behind him heading to the swarm of kittens too.
"Wait! Do you see a tan kitty with a pat of butter on its head?" Kris said as he Leand out of Mitch's side mirror as he walked towards the kitties.
"Let's see. Sushi, fez, whip cream dollop, paper crown....." you said naming the kittens by their name as you heard two in your left arm as kris came out behind you with one in his hand.
"There's one rare kitty named pancake who's worth a ton of XP." Kris said as Mitch zapped the glitch kitty out of kris' hands and into his gauntlet as you petted some kittens.
"Pancake McGuffin? *Chuckles Zaps some cats into his gauntle* please, that cat is an urban legend. I tried using every squeak toy in the game and never once got her to show up" Mitch said as you quickly went behind him scaring him.
"I though you hated this game" you said as a white kitty sat on your head, as another one was in your right arm.
"It was free to play. At first" Mitch said as you laughed a little at him. Before every kitty began to run in different directions.
"They're getting away. Split up!" You said before running after some kitties as the others listened to you. As every time you captured some glitch kittens they meowed as they entered your gauntlet, so cute.
"Smile for the gauntlet, purr-box" you said as you got two more kittens.
"Looks like we're on the edge of town, guys. What if these glitches cross over the border into dabney?" Kris asked as Mitch answered through the gauntlet.
"Then they become a problem for the Dabney glitch techs." Mitch replied as you decided to speak too.
"Wouldn't we just work with them?" You asked Mitch since he knew more about this stuff than you.
"Phil's rules on this are clear, kitten. We are not to poach glitches from across town lines." Mitch said in a way for you to understand to not cross over the boarder line at no point you should cross it.
"Okay" you sighed as you began to walk to meet the others before seeing a kitty at the corner of your eye. "Huh?" You said as it looked at you as it meowed. "Pancake! The legend is real!" You said to yourself as you tried to capture it and show it off to the others but failed. "Gotcha!" You said as if jumped out of view. "Come on, where'd you go, pancake?" You said to yourself as you begin to come across boarder lines as it popped very close to it.
"No, no, no, no. Not that way, kitty. You don't wanna go to Dabney." You said as nicely as possible without panicking as it raised a foot near the train tracks. "You wanna come with me to Bailley." You said as it looked at you with a bit bothered look. As you randomly began to speak a random language at the kitten hoping it'll work as it meowed jumping over the line into Dabney.
"Oh, fudge!" You said as you ran towards the line before stopping and thinking about what you're gonna do, before looking around.
"Fudge, another tech van." You thought as you jumped over the line as you quickly covered your gauntlet stopping it as the cat looked at you so you got down on all fours as you began to hunt to down instead, not noticing that your wolf ears and tail are out again. (Mitch knows about those).
"Scarlett? Scarlett , did we lose you?" Kris cane through on the gauntlet so you paused for a second.
"Just a sec. I'm uh... just finishing up." You said as you got back onto your hunt for pancake McGuffin. You began to do circles in the tall grass confusing the poor thing before jumping out at it.
"You're mine, kitty!" You said zapping the kitten with your gauntlet capturing it. "Yeah! Oh..." you said before looking around before running back over the boarder line to bailley.
"Yes, I did it... oh no" You said before turning around to see Mitch with his arms crossed not pleased.
"Did what. Exactly?" Mitch said seriously in a eiger tone.
"Read it, Williams. I just caught pancake McGuffin" you said not raising your voice or showing off just keeping your cool.
"After what I told you about not poaching from the Dabney techs?" Mitch said not showing any remorse since you didn't follow instructions.
"I didn't poach." You said assuring that you didn't, Lying to Mitch.
"You ignored my warning and decided *walks around you with crossed arms* to wolf a rare glitch from out under another techs teams patrol." Mitch said as he stopped looking at you as you turned to him.
"Hey, it started on our turf." You said seriously back at Mitch as he huffed with a smile.
"Hmm, well, maybe you aren't the innocent *pats your left shoulder* goody-two-shoes I always though you were, kitten" Mitch said with a smile like he was happy that you did something like that or he had a plan up his sleeve.
"There you are! Okay, I bagged three Missus Mittens, two Buckaroo Catseyes and a Doctor Mew. What are we talking about?" Kris said running to us as he looked at him.
"Nothing. Let's just go" you said before walking back to the van as Mitch smiled walking with you as kris walked close to you.
"Scarlett wait up!" Kris said catching up some more not realising that you were being watched.
Back at HQ!!
As you theee got back to the lobby to hand in the glitchs and XP.
"Your ears and tail are still out" Mitch said as you quickly put them away out of other techs views since only Mitch's team knows about you and Phil.
"I want number 5!" Kris said as you pushed him forward.
"Extra cheese please!" You said as Mitch followed behind you.
"Do they make protein- style pasta?" Mitch said catching up as zahra followed behind.
"Uh, this is not a communal order." Phil said not happy about this.
"Extra secret sauce on mine" Zahra said before handing her glitchs and XP in too.
"Hold on, Hold on. There's a secret sauce?" Phil said shocked about the secret sauce appearance as you were stuck between Mitch and kris. "Hey! No one told me about a secret sauce" Phil said as he wanted a answer form one of use but you and the others looked at the screen above where everything was being put in.
"How's it being a half-animal, huh, Scarlett ?" Kris said nudging you a little bit as you sighed.
"Great I guess" you responded not really wanting to talk about it since it's kinda weird and not normal around here, but Simon has them too. "But, im glad I'm not a cat though if not someone would touch my ears and tail continuous" you said looking at Mitch as he smirked not putting it down.
"Joan. Long time no talk. Just the way I like it" Phil said since he was talking to a nemesis in Dabney.
"Let me cut to the chase, philbert. My team picked up an ultra-rare glitch signature style the town border this morning...." she said as you looked back to see him on call as I looked back at kris.
"That's great. I deeply care about—-" Phil said as he was cut of my her.
"But it was sniped our form underneath them by one of your misfitcrew" she said as you hissed a little at the word 'misfit' side you and kris were different from the rest.
"Joansy, let's not start again. Unlike your bag of Dabney hooligans, my techs follow the rules. My techs respect our town boarders. And my techs don't need your second-hand glitches." Phil said as you looked at Mitch as he looked at you.
"Don't think about" you said to him as he smiled as he rolled his eyes.
"would I do that" he said as you crossed your arms certain he would do something like that.
"Have you even asked the little angels about it?" She asked Phil not happy about the thing you did today.
"I don't have to ask. I'm aware of everything my techs do." Phil said as he muted the call as he looked at you four near the containment.
"what have you guys been doing? Anyone bag a glitch outside town?" Phil said as kris and zahra looked at him confused.
"Nope" Kris said obviously not knowing what you have done.
"Negativo" Zahra said as you began to look through your gauntlet for the rule book.
"Certainly not" Mitch said without a smile, such a naughty tech.
"Um, I can't actually find a rule in the tech handbook that says—-" you said as you put your gauntlet away crossing your arms are Phil cut you off.
"Good, the last thing I need is a turf war on my hands. *Unmutes call* so as I was saying, without interruption, my kids are innocent." Phil said standing up for his techs not knowing the real truth like Mitch does.
"Oh, glitch poop. Someone's jaw is clenched shut and I want it pried open" Joan said as hated being the one to hide secrets but if it's as serious as Mitch says I guess it can't be helped.
"Good catching up with you, j-bird." Phil said as he began to end the call.
"This is not over, Phil. My techs will have justice! We will savour it's flavour like secret sauce!" She said as Phil swiped ending the call.
"Even Joan knows about the secret sauce? I should've brown-bagged it today." Phil said before walking off leaving you with Mitch.
"Looks like you got away with the perfect crime, kitty. Or should I say wolfie." Mitch said in a soft like tone.
"Why didn't you say anything?" You asked Mitch as he laughed in response.
"*laughs* What fun would that be?" Mitch said as he walked away from you as you stood confused of what just happened knowing he has got a plan but you are not sure what it is yet.
You, Mitch, Zahra and kris are in a room showing a map as you all were in your tech suits.
"Okay, techs. Satalittes trackin three class-five sludges from the game smooze brothers at various hotspots in town. Slow-moving signatures multiple weak points." Phil said as everyone waited for the call.
"Easy-peasy" you said with a small smile.
"For quote my grandpa, it moves slower than molasses" Zahra said as she looked at you as you both smiled.
"Just like in their game, the sludges are drawn towards one another. Take'em down before they can merge together and level up." Phil said as everyone got into Mitch's van as we began to head to park where the blue sludge was closely located.
At the park!
Kids were seen playing in the weird blue goo as zahra placed a memory wipe on them.
"Hey! Recess is over. Grab a buddy and get thee to a carpool." Zahra said as she saw you avoid the goo. "Where's your tail and ears aren't they supposed to be on during patrol?" Zahra asked you you looked at her before popping them out.
"Ugh, so much goo. So little time" you said as you used your gauntlet to clean up some of the blue goo like everyone else besides Mitch.
"On the front lines, blueberries. I don't want that stuff in my hair." Mitch said like so famous person like lady gaga or Rihanna.
"Let's earn out XP guys!" Kris said as you, Zahra and kris were in front cleaning the goo before seeing the blue sludge as it roared and looked at us spitting goo at us as Mitch died a sheild to cover himself.
"Zahra! Crowd control!" Mitch demanded as you hid behind a rock watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Zahar successful pauses the glitch.
"Five seconds!" Zahra said as Mitch lowered his sheild.
"Scarlett, melee strike!" Mitch said as he pointed at you as you began to get ready.
"On it" you said as you brought you your weapon as you rushed over cutting open the kitchen showing it weak stop "thank you very much" you said as you put the sword away back into your gauntlet.
"No puns, ugh" Mitch said as you sighed.
"It wasn't a pun Mitch" you said as he looked at kris.
"Kris, ranges strike" Mitch demanded wanting the glitch over and done with.
"I think that can be a-ranged... sorry" kris said before apologising about the back pun as you rushed out of the way back with the others. Kris was able to shoot at the glitch but something strange appeared around it.
"This things have sheilds?" You exclaimed knowing this will take longer and Mitch began to look a the situation.
"That wasn't the glitch" Mitch said as people ninja styled as they rushed passed us.
"We've got adds! Ready Aim..." Zahra said as some more techs showed up as we lowered our gauntlets.
"Hold!" Mitch yelled as they began to do some series of weird poses which made you cringe a bit.
"They're glitch techs?" Kris said as you looked at them mostly at the one with a strange thing covering his hole head not seeing his face.
"Take it out" the strange one demanded the other techs as your team observed behind as the shields was taken down as the sludge began to attack but the three techs made some portals making the goo go into it as you 4 stood back as you saw 3 portals open in front of you as blue smile caMe rushing out at all of you.
"Incoming!" Mitch yelled as all of you tried to escape the goo bombing but everyone got hit by the slime especially Mitch.... in the face 😂.
As the other glitchs captured the glitch they turned to face your team.
"Hey that was our glitch!" Kris yelled at the weird tech.
"Who do you clowns think you are?" Zahra said as you couldn't stop looking at them.
"We're the really glitch techs" the weird one said as they did a pose again you rolled your eyes at it.
"I'm sorry, come again? Your costumes are blinding me." Mitch said facing away form them combing his hair not happy about it.
"I'm wes" the bold one said.
"Ray" the other one said with a bit of pink looking like twins.
"Sup guys?" The green haired girls said you couldn't remember her at all.
"Simi? I thought you transferred over to Dabney store." Kris said as Mitch was able to walk about to us making it a face to face with both teams lining with each other.
"They're all from the Dabney store" you said I'm a annoyed voice.
"So which one of you is the glitch theif, huh? Huh? I need an answer" the weird robot one asked so impatiently as you scoffed hating this mission already.
"Nameless needs an answer" ray said as both her and west leand over in a bear position as Mitch chuckled at the name.
"Hang on. 'Nameless'? Ha! *Goes into his face* Is that a joke, or did you forget to enter one when you created that ridiculous avatar?" Mitch said loving to insult the man as you didn't know that your ears and tail were still out.
"It was a rare glitch, you guys. Would have been worth a ton of XP" simi said not wanting to start things or make it worse.
"Our boss already told your boss. Nobody took anything form you" Zahra said not knowing who it is as Mitch smiled knowing who.
"Heat signatures don't lie, I captured this still from my visor" west said showing you a heat signature firm this morning.
"Guys, we're all techs shouldn't we all be on the same side or something?" You said with no motivation at all as nameless looked at you.
"Do I hear guilt or it she always this much of a goody-two-shoes?" He said as you growled at him causing him to stand back.
"They don't come much goodier" kris said standing up for you as you stopped growling.
"Well, I..." you said as someone cut you off.
"And earth to ray, your blurry, Bigfoot evidence is super unacceptable." Zahra said not really happy about the whole situation.
"Ugh, so nobody's gonna fess sup?" Simi said not happy at all, as you sighed causing Mitch to quickly come beside you putting his arm align your shoulder.
"Looks like there's nothing to fess." Mitch said with a smile as nameless looked at him angrily.
"Fine. Then form now on, I guess it's open season on glitches. Techs, assemble and roll out!" Nameless said as they all posed before disappearing in a little cloud of smoke leaving the others clueless as you sighed as Mitch let go looking around surprised.
"Is he kidding with that?" Kris said confused and mind blown about thy trick they pulled.
"Uh, what does 'open season' mean?" You asked the crew as they looked around the area, before hearing everyone's gauntlet chime.
"Warning, Glitch signature, detected." The automated voice said as everyone's gauntlets randomly became huge and heavy since yours was the only one not to be hacked.
"Not fair!" Kris said as he looked at you as you looked at your gauntlet.
"Looks like your their favourite" Mitch said in a agitated voice not happy at all.
"Those punks hacked are gauntlets!" Zahra said complaining about it.
"It means those techs aren't leaving town anytime soon" Mitch said getting up dragging his gauntlet with him.
In the van on way to get the next sludge!
"Ugh, should we tell philbert and tell him about what those creeps did?" Kris said very mad as he sat in the back with a huge gauntlet.
"I'm sure we don't need to bother Phil. We took a glitch from Dabney and they took one from us. We're even now" you'd said as zahra was able to fix kris' gauntlet.
"Only we didn't take a glitch" Zahra said as she looked at you.
"Right" you said in response.
"Which makes them the real glitch thieves! If anyone should be declaring open season, it's us! Kris said as he held the back of your seat serious about the situation.
"Look sharp, we're coming up on that location second sludge glitch location." Mitch said as we stopped at a red light as he did what he did when we stopped for the kittens slam the breaks..... (I love seatbelt). A horn was sudden honked as it went through everyone's ears as all of you looked to your left seeing the Dabney glitch techs there.
"Sorry, techs, that glitch is ours!" Nameless scoffed as he brought out the huge portal gun shooting it below us sending us to a top of a building behind us, you growled at how pissed off you were at the moment.
"Mitchell, you know what to do" you said looking at him seriously as he looked shocked to serious very fast.
"Hold onto your mushrooms" Mitch said as he put the hands back in the wheel as he pulled the throddle back before activating both of the turbo busters which send the van at high speed as everyone was stuck to the back of their seats as you held to the side of yours.
It didn't take long to catch up to the other glitch techs as they tried to knock you of the road so we returned the favour and tired to get them back dodging through traffic as youflailed your arms at nameless as he used one hand on you as the other was on the wheel, so the next time you came close you to it his robot helmet letting go as Mitch pulled off.
You were able to get to the scalyerd before them running over the yellow sludge glitch as you drifted as Mitch jumped out so you quickly used the brakes to slow it down before jumping out too with the others making look like an epic entrance.
The yellow sludge shot goo at you dodged it fine.
"Wow. That thing sounds like Mitch playing karaoke hero" you said with a smile as he got out his big gun.
"Hey, I unlocked the golden throat achievement in that game." Mitch said as he aimed at the glitch as you quickly went in for my if him with your holographic claws with kris with his sword.
"You're gonna have a golden everything in a second!( looked at kris) kris!" You yelled at kris as zahra was behind him.
"It's slime-time partner!" Kris said shooting at the glitch but it was stopped as the Dabney techs came through a portal and blocked it.
"Didn't we shake that mob?" Zahra said as you moved to the left side of Mitch.
"Got a signal on them, wes?" Ray said as you put you holographic claws away as Mitch kept his gun out as the other team aimed at the glitch.
"You know i do" Wes said responding back to ray.
"Forget them. Just lock your emitters on one...." Kris said as Mitch got his ready.
"Two.." Mitch said as it began to charge up.
"Three!" You yelled as you aimed your gauntlet as they were hacked so you stopped yours forgetting to tell everyone else to stop but they shot at it giving it love not destroying it.
"Oh, come on!" Mitch yelled pulling the gun down as you bashed at your gauntlet.
"Your kidding me!" You yelled at your gauntletas nameless laughed at you.
"Looks like you techs need to get your gauntles serviced!.. oh!" Nameless said as he thought that he roasted us so you began to think of a plan.
"Hope you got extended warranty!" Simi said as you growled not really wanting to finish this.
"I am sick of these griefers!" You and zahra said at the same time before looking at each other then at nameless again.
"Yeah, you all are class A cheaters! Your not allowed to hack another techs gauntlet l!" Kris said as he blows a raspberry at them.
"We would never do that" ray said with a smile.
"Well, she wouldn't. She never learned how" Wes said as ray looked at him.
"Get over yourself, Wes" ray said angrily and a bit affended.
"Ugh, will you two just bag that glitch?" Nameless said getting a bit impatient, makimg wes and ray quickly go and take the glitch out, allowing nameless to collect the root form of the glitch.
"Hey! You already took a glitch from us! What more do you trolls want?" You growled angrily as they looked at you as you got closer to nameless.
"We want the truth. And we're gonna shadow your team until we get it." Nameless said as he stayed still with crossed arms.
"Fine! You really want the truth?" You said as Mitch quickly used his hand to cover you hand before coming in.
"The truth is you lot can't hack it in Dabney, so you're trolling newbies instead of patrolling your turf!" Mitch said as he let go of your mouth before point at nameless with the same hand before putting it down.
"Are you insulting us or them?" Zahra said far back from you.
"If I did it right, both" Mitch said as you walked the back of Mitch's head before everyone's gauntlets chimed at the new glitches signature.
"Hey, one last sludge glitch on the radar, guys" Simi said pointing it out to everyone. "We'll be three for three" Simi said getting off a messed up car.
"Not if we get there first!" Kris yelled as you all got paused before you could even move.
"You won't" Wes said as nameless powered his gauntlet.
"Okay, techs, assemble and roll out!" Nameless said as they all posed before getting into the van heading to the bridge where that possessor glitch was caught by Mitch.
"Pick one battlecry to rip off, dude!" Kris yelled as everyone was frozen not able to move any limb.
As 10 seconds last the final 5 seconds was finally finished freeing all off you!
You all grunted finally able to move almost falling over off your own feet.
"This is getting out of hand. We gotta out an end to this feud." You said as Mitch straightened his collar out.
"We will..... by showing those out- of-town era who the real glitch techs really are!" Mitch said with confidence.
"Won't that make it worse?" You said as Mitch looked at you before smiling coming to the side of you.
"I'm Mitch Williams. And I need you, to help me make a plan" Mitch said as he pulled you to the van as you got into the van, waiting for kris.
"I don't want to agree with Mitch, but I agree with Mitch. Even if he did steal their glitch" Zaharia said thinking that he stole the glitch.
"You think I stole their glitch?" Mitch said as he left his car door open as you sat waiting inside.
"I wasn't gonna say, but it seems like a pretty Mitchy thing to do" kris said as you sighed as he looked at you.
"Well, if you say so. *Gets into the van* now, come on, Techs. Let's transform and cowabunga" Mitch said as he pulled his hair up in shape as Zahar got in the back as kris looked back.
"Hey! Get in already. Zahra and Scarlett have a plan to get our glitchs back" Mitch said as you looked at them.
"And it's epic" you said as kris was finally able to get into the van as we began to head to the bridge where the last glitch was.
At the bridge!
Mitch's PoV:
Scarlett was doing the hacking since she was better and faster at typing the codes anyway like she was a true hacker.
As we caught up to them it was too late they already caught the glitch.
"Aww, too late. Looks like we already bagged the last glitch on your grocery list" nameless said as he laughed at us.
"I think you have something that belongs to us." Scarlett said as she began to do a data extraction form their gauntlets as their gauntlets went red.
"Wesley, what's happening?" Nameless said as he tried to stop this but failed.
"One of them must be a techn rogue, too" ray said pointing out that one of us is a hack and they're right.
"Oh, yeah, not the only one who maxed out their tech hacking skills son!" Zahra said as she pointed at scarlett as she smiled looking at them.
"You were supposed to download their glitches straight to our gauntlets" I said looking at scarlett as she jumped a bit at me.
"I'd like to see how accurate you are at hacking a tech gauntlet *gets in my face a I back away* from the back of a moving van!" Scarlett yelled back at me since I kinda disperse it for scaring her.
"Now it's open season, glitches!" Kris yelled jumping in front of us as we all began to fight over the glitches, Scarlett suddenly stopped as I continued to carry on.
No one pov:
As you paused you began to think about phils advise back at HQ about the sludges and if they got too close to each other.
"Don't let them touch each other!" You yelled but no one was laying attention to the glitches at all.
"Back off! This ones ours!" Nameless said as Mitch kicked away from the red sludge.
"You really need to chill—-" Mitch said as he was stuck to the wall by ice from Wes.
"Chill out?" Wes said laughing at Mitch as zahra went on the attack but he blocked it.
"Guys?" You said as everyone was fighting each other. "Come on, focus on the glitch!" I said aiming my gauntlet everywhere as everyone sparred on each other not seeing the 3 sludges combine "oh, no" you said as nameless was able to land on his feet again as they began to combine with each other.
"Admit the truth." Nameless said coming at you as you blocked his attack. "We know you took it" nameless said as you both locked hands as you growled at him.
"Why are you all so hard stuck on this?" Kris said holding back one of the other techs.
"Why can't all you just own up?" Simi said a bit mad like everyone else.
"For the last time, nobody stole anything form your—-" Zahra said as you couldn't co rain it anymore as you pushed nameless away aggressively.
"It was me okay! I did it. I stole pancake McGuffin!" You yelled loudly for everyone to hear as your eyes began to change and dilute like a cats pupils when they're hunting. You released the glitch out of your gauntlet as it meowed.
"Dude!" Kris yelled nicked that you took the glitch the entire time.
"Wait, so you stole it from Mitch after he stole it?" Zahra said as she still thinks Mitch took it form Dabney.
"Are you..... seriously?" Mitch said not happy at all.
"It escaped from our town. I was one foot over the line. And where does it say we can't catch glitches in each other's towns anyway?!" You yelled frustrated as the glitch snatched pancake eating it giving it a level up. You were able to move back a bit very close to Mitch as the glitch got a bit bigger.
"Great, now, nobody get it" Simi said with disappointment in her voice as you growled at her.
"I said I was sorry, okay!" You yelled at her as Mitch pulled you back knowing he had taking this a bit too far, so you shook Mitch off as you looked at the glitch instead.
"Can we woke together on this?" Kris said as everyone looked at him but you didn't. "Glitch techs is supposed to be a team isn't it?!" Kri said finally as he went over to you placing his hand on your back.
"Such a goody-goody" Mitch groaned as nameless placed a hand on Mitch's shoulder.
"Techs, give me a tactical estimate" nameless said as Mitch brushed his hand off but nameless but it back on.
