Chapter Ten: Baby Names
(Emi's POV)
I woke up early in the morning, the warm sun hugged my skin as I sighed peacefully. I looked over my shoulder at Levi, who was sound asleep. I smiled to myself as I found the will to climb out of bed. The villa had a breathtaking view of the nearby lake that could be seen from the balcony of the master bedroom. I looked around the room for something to cover my naked body, finally finding a short silk white robe that was hanging in the closet. I stoped in front a mirror that was hanging on the cream colored walls. My sun kissed skin had hickeys that started at my collarbone and ended all the way at my inner thighs. I blushed deeply, reminiscing on the events that happened the night before.
I slid the silk over my exposed body, tying the belt right above my baby bump. I rubbed my belly softly and blushed. "God, you're so beautiful.." Levi's sleepy voice caused me to jump slightly. I turned around to face him, keeping my golden eyes on him. "I thought you were sleeping." I explained as he stretched, the white cotton sheets sliding down his muscular chest as he yawned. "I was, and then I felt you get out of bed." He stated as I leaned against the wall.
"So what would you like to do today? We can stay home, go explore the town, go swimming... the possibilities are endless." Levi stated as I tapped my chin with my slim index finger. "Hmm.. we could look around town and see if we can find anything for the baby." I spoke as Levi slowly sat up. He smiled, patting the empty space on the bed. I smiled and walked over to the bed, climbing in with him.
A peaceful sigh escaped my lips as Levi turned to his side, pulling apart my robe so my baby bump was exposed. Levi leaned down and planted a few gentle kisses on my bump. "How are you doing in there princess? Daddy and mommy can't wait for you to get here." Levi spoke softly against the skin of my stomach. I blushed deeply and giggled as I felt this weird feeling course through my stomach.
After a few moments my eyes widened, finally realizing what that feeling was. "Levi, I just felt her move." I stated as he smiled and rubbed my bump. "Well of course, that's because her daddy is talking. Isn't that right princess?" Levi spoke, causing the baby to kick softly again. "We still haven't thought of a name for her." I spoke as I watched him rub and kiss my abdomen. "Well... I've had an idea for her name for a while now." Levi explained as I raised an eyebrow.
"Really? Well, what is it?" I asked, curious as to what he had in mind. "Well, I was thinking of Megami Ackerman." He stated as my eyes widened a bit. "Levi.." I whispered, tears slowly building in my eyes as he smiled. "Megami means Goddess... and I thought since our resident goddess isn't here anymore, that we can honor Kami by naming our daughter after her." He explained as I ran my hand through his messy black hair. "I love you Levi. I'm so happy to be your wife." I smiled as he laid down next to me, pulling me into his arms. I always felt the safest in his arms.
Levi kissed the top of my head and smiled as he played with some strands of my golden locks. "We went through a lot of shit to get here, didn't we?" Levi stated. I giggled, wrapping my arms around his waist. "We sure did. But we're finally here and we can finally live our life's together." I blushed deeply, the thought of spending the rest of my life with Levi felt like a dream come true.
"Just try not to turn my hair grey before I turn fifty." Levi teased as I rolled my eyes. "Ha, Ha very funny. Now I just might." I stuck my tongue out, causing his hands to instantly begin tickling my hips. I laughed uncontrollably as I did the best I could to fight off his barrage of tickles. He chuckled, finally easing up on the tickles as I sighed deeply.
"Do we really have to go back in a week?" I asked, pouting my plump bottom lip. Levi smiled and brushed his thumb against my bottom lip. "Unfortunately, we do. I have work as a Commander that I have to get back to. Plus, you start your new job Lieutenant. You have cadets you have to train." Levi stated. After the whole Kami/ Erwin incident I was promoted to Lieutenant of the survey corps. I was extremely excited with my new position, but the thought of having to train cadets made me feel suddenly quite exhausted.
"Thank you by the way, I thought you would have fought me on stepping off of the front lines but you didn't." Levi explained as I shrugged. "My time on the front lines is over. I did my part for humanity, I gained a lot as well as lost a lot. With Megami on the way, I think taking a step back now was the best choice for me." I sighed, feeling like a huge chapter of my life was finally over. Levi slowly rubbed my back, causing me to relax a bit.
"I know it's hard for your Emi, but Kami would want you to be happy." I closed my eyes as he spoke. I sighed deeply again, snuggling closer to Levi. "I know she does. Sometimes, I still feel the empty part of me she left behind. It's something I'm still trying to get used to." I explained as he nodded. "I made a promise to kami, that I would never let you get hurt again. That I would always love and protect you and make you happy. I plan on keeping my word." Levi stated, my golden eyes locking on his. "Promise?" I muttered, causing him to kiss me deeply. The feeling of our lips crashing together made my mind suddenly feel clear. "I promise..."
