Dylan's house.

Mark was a bit startled by that question 'cause it came unexpectedly, he wasn't expecting that statement from Dylan. But did Dylan plan on telling him now? was the later he spoke of now? well, if Dylan intended on revealing it to him now, he was completely ready and willing to listen. The main reason was that he was curious, he wanted to know how wealthy Dylan was, does his wealth comes from music production only?

"Yeah, I wanna know how rich you are, I am f**king curious about it". Mark declared.

"Let's go to my house then". Dylan said directly glancing at Mark to detect if he would accept to come or not.

"Hmmm, that's a very nice idea, I'll surely love to come. Come to think of it, we haven't been to each other's dwelling yet, but we've been to Ben's house".

"Yeah...yeah, that's true, so it's best you come to my house now that you have the chance and opportunity to do so. Then at another time, I'll create space to visit your dwelling".

"That's cool....so when we get to your dwelling, you wouldn't waste time to reveal to me how rich you are, right?".

"Yeah, with immediate effect, even without me telling you anything, setting eyes on my edifice alone...you would know where to place my level of richness on".

"Hmmm, let's go then, I am getting more and more curious". Mark said as Dylan started the car and drove off.

After some minutes of the car being in motion, Mark became inquisitive about something, he had a question to ask of Dylan.

"Is your house located in this city of Chicago? I hope it is, 'cause if it's not, you're stopping this car right here and now".

Dylan smiled, still focused on the steering wheel, he inquired,

"Is it a problem for my house to be located in another city in the USA?".

"It's no problem at all, but going there now is impossible, that would be too far. Do you know how long it will take for you to drive from this city to another? that would take hours. Not to talk of coming back....additional hours. But wait, Don't tell me your house is located in another city".

Dylan smiled once again and said, "You don't need to be afraid, my main house is located in this city of Chicago. My other house is located in Austin city".

Mark breathed a sigh of relief, "Now I'm satisfied, we aren't going that far. You can drive on as fast as possible".

Though Mark didn't say that seriously, Dylan seemed to have listened to him as he increased the speed on which he drove. After minutes of driving, they arrived at the front gate of Dylan's building, the gate seemed a bit huge and classy. The boulevard where Dylan's house was located was wholly silent....seems like it was an estate. Mark glanced at the other buildings surrounding the boulevard, and damn! they were all nice and elegant structures.

Still unsure if this was an estate or not, Mark decided to ask Dylan,

"This is an estate right?".

"Yeah, how did you figure that out?". Dylan inquired.

"The peace surrounding the whole boulevard, the silence in it. That's how I got to know that this was an estate, though I wasn't fully sure yet, that's why I asked you". Mark retorted.

"Ohhh!".

"So what's the name of this boulevard? or should I say estate?".

"This is the 'Wilmette' estate".

"Wow! I love the serenity in it, it's cool". Mark uttered with a delighted expression on his face as he opened the door in an attempt to come out of the car until Dylan halted him saying,

"Where are you going? why are you coming out of the car?".

"I want to assist by opening your gate so we could go in quickly, I really want to see the main structure of your house and how your compound looks like". Mark answered.

"There's no need for that, I have a gateman inside". Dylan uttered pressing the car horn for the gateman to realize that someone was waiting at the gate.

It wasn't too long before the gate was opened by the gateman and Dylan zoomed into the compound. Mark stepped out of the car instantly so he could take a proper look at Dylan's building and compound, and damn! everything was looking magnificent. The compound was so broad with the flowers used in beautifying it to give it that wonderful look. The main edifice was well built and the colors of the house were glowing.

There were three cars in the compound plus the one they came in with amounting to four cars. Mark could also sight a motorcycle at a side of the compound...seems like Dylan had a liking for motorcycles. The outer part of Dylan's house looked exactly like Andrew's own, the only difference was the swimming pool. There was a swimming pool at Andrew's compound but non at Dylan's compound. After setting eyes on the glamorous outer look of Dylan's house, Mark already knew where to position Dylan's level of richness.....he was super-rich, as he had thought earlier.

Dylan said something like owning another house in the city of 'Austin' if Mark had heard correctly. That was another indication of Dylan's wealth. Dylan turned his attention to his gateman and inquired?".

"Did anyone come looking for me?".

"No". Replied the gateman.

"Have you eaten?". Dylan asked once again.

"Yeah, am full".

"Ok, that's good to know". Dylan uttered taking his gaze from the gateman and placing them on Mark, he said, "Let's go in".

Both of them walked into the main edifice arriving at Dylan's parlor. No doubt about it, the interior part of the house was more glamorous than the outer part of it.....that's how it should be. It wouldn't be nice for the exterior part of a house to be so beautiful and elegant, while the interior looks so dull. Everything in the house was looking so glamorous and attractive, from the couches, the tiles, the stairs leading to other rooms in the house, the television set, and the rest.

Mark made himself comfortable on one of the couches in the parlor and said to Dylan,

"That gateman of yours is pretty young".

Dylan sat also on one of the sofas in the parlor and retorted to Mark's statement,

"Yeah, he is so young in face, but his age has gone by, he isn't no small boy...he is in his early thirties".

"What! you can't be serious". Mark let out in disbelief.

"I am f**king serious, he is in his early thirties".

"Damn! He looks 21 to 24 years".

"Yeah, but he ain't no small boy, I saw him on the streets while I was driving home one certain evening. He was sitting on a long bench and his face was filled with extreme frustration. His dressing was so tattered and I could tell that he was homeless. I walked up to him to ask what the problem was 'cause no one cared and I knew that he wasn't insane,

He explained all his nemesis and problems to me. I won't be able to explain all to you now 'cause it's much of a long story. But just to know, the cause of his homeless was as a result of some fraudulent stuff. He was robbed and defrauded of all his money which rendered him homeless and stranded. I decided to help him out by employing him as my gateman so I could be paying him monthly while he saves some which he could use to start something for himself in the future,

I made sure to provide him with new clothes and also feed him well so he wouldn't have to spend much of the salary I pay him. Though he is my gateman, I respect him a lot 'cause he is a very humble guy. So that's how I employed him as my gateman". Dylan clarified.

"Wow! that's very nice of you Dylan, that's very cool stuff to do for a homeless person". Mark stated with a type of respect in his tone of voice and facial expression.

"Yeah, we rise by raising others".

With that last statement from Dylan, both of them kept silent for few seconds before Dylan triggered a conversation once again,

"Should I bring something for you to drink?".

"Nope, am not in the mood at all". Mark responded rejecting Dylan's offer.

"Ok then, if you say so, now that you've seen how elegant my house is, at what level would place my richness on?".

"You are super-rich....but I just want to know, does your wealth comes from music production only, or do you have other sources of income?". An inquisitive Mark asked.

Dylan paused for some seconds, smiled a little, then said, "I am the owner of 'Rock and Roll' night club".
