I used to call my mother, talk about life, let off steam and ask for prayer: my dear cousin, Mirna. She lived in another country and we had not seen her for many years.
Mirna suffered from cancer, so she worried a lot about her daughter: "What will become of her if I leave? How is she going to do without me? "
After months of suffering, Mirna passed away.
I often get up at dawn to pray for everyone in the family, I enjoy the silence and peace of the early hours of the day to talk to God. I felt in my heart to pray for Mirna.
"I know she's on the other side, but can you hear me? " - I thought uncertainly.
And an angel answers:
- She is distressed. She needs her mother's prayer!
The next day I called my mother:
- Hi, mom! Are you ok?
- Yes, I am. How is everyone there? Luigi, Victor, Edgar, you...
- We're fine, mom. I need to say one thing: while praying for Mirna's soul, an angel said she needed your prayer.
- But he's dead! The Bible says that the dead sleep! - and she continued. - Are you sure it was an angel? - she asked incredulously.
- I am, mom! Mirna needs your words, she needs the comfort of your prayer. - I said patiently.
- You are asking to go against the teachings of the Bible! - she said furiously.
- People do not sleep after death.
- Says who?
- The angel said she needs your prayer. You are denying prayer and God is not pleased!
- And why did the angel speak to you? Why not to me or Livia? You weren't even close to her! - she increasingly raised the tone of voice.
- It's because you don't believe it! Our beliefs often limit God's action! If the angel spoke directly to you, you would think he was the enemy and scold him.
- I will not pray, it is written that after death there is nothing, that the dead will sleep until the coming of Jesus Christ. - she decided, already annoyed.
I said goodbye and hung up the phone. I pray, open the Bible, and take the word.
"And when Paul [...] had said this, there was dissension between the Pharisees and Sadducees; and the crowd was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess all of these.
And a great cry arose; and the scribes rising up from the Pharisees contended, saying: We find no evil in this man, and if any spirit or angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God. "
I call mom again:
- Mom, I took the word: Acts 23: 6-9. Give it a read! That word confirms what we were discussing!
She opens the Bible and reads.
- It may be God's will... - she said softly.
- Is it so painful to say a prayer? Do you think you will be punished if you say a prayer for a dead person? Your mother prayed for the dead. - I pleaded.
- I did not know that. - she answered serenely.
- She said a prayer in Latin. Mom, after the prayer is cast, God decides what to do with it. Pray and leave it to God, this is an act of faith!
- All right, I'll pray for Mirna... That must be God's will. - she resigned herlself.
At dawn, lying in bed, I say a prayer:
- Lord, Mirna is suffering on the other side, let this prayer come to her. I know she is not here, but I believe there are angels with permission to carry this prayer:
"Mirna, rest in peace, everything will be all right! God will take care of your daughter, and whatever happens to her will be for her growth. Remember me when I was little? What was I like? How was I? You said you were sorry when you saw me, and you cried... you said I was undressed, badly combed and living in a dirty, poor place. But now, look at me! I have also grown spiritually and she will grow too! You didn't leave her alone, because God cares for her and cares for us all. Trust in God and rest!"
At this moment I have a vision: a hole opening and a scroll with the prayer being thrown to the other side, then the hole closes.
The hole opened and closed in the blink of an eye. The message has arrived.
The next day I called my mother:
- Did you pray for Mirna? - I asked curiously.
- Yes, I said a prayer. - she answered calmly.
- And what did you tell her?
- I told her to be at peace because I would help her daughter whenever she needed, within my conditions, of course."
- Mirna is calmer, she needed your words.
- How do you know?
- The angel said.
We said goodbye, I hung up the phone and meditated:
"The opening between the world of the living and the dead was allowed in order to to pass a prayer, because in one of the worlds there was great unrest. Mirna needed to call my mom, she needed to hear the last prayer... "
