He was training in front of the deck, and can't help but notice a spot appearing in front of him.
An island, or maybe the beginning of a city. He had to hold on to his will to shout 'LAND IN SIGHT!!'. Looking at the place, he wiped away his sweat as he sat at the tip of the deck to get a more privileged view of the place.
It seemed to be an island, because they had no signs of cities, or anything like that, besides the huge iron pillar in the center of the island, which extended even above the clouds.
Noah marveled at this as he looked from afar, the pillar extending to the towering clouds in the center of the island, as if it had been thrown and stayed there.
*Cough*
The cough took him of his stupor, making him look at the fountain, which was Captain Estefan.
"Beautiful right?" He asked, while admiring the same scene as Noah.
"Oh... Yes, very beautiful this place." Noah replied by turning again to face. 'Is the test involving that pillar? It has to be...' He pondered as he continued to see this landscape.
'We may have to get into the pillar?...' He kept thinking, as he looked and waited for the ship to arrive.
"We'll land there in 30 minutes, I think you'd better get your things ready..." Estefan spoke as he left the scene and went back inside to prepare for landing the ship.
After that storm, there were no other disturbing, so all the crew were healthy, and they had already seen that they were arriving.
Noah spent another time looking at it, it was a whole new vision and he was engrossed in it. He would never expect to see this in his other life, so he kept looking while his backpack was on his back. He had already saved everything and all that was left was to get to the place.
His eyes were still active, and he could see weak lines across the island, despite the distance. But they were really very imperceptive, he hardly sees if he doesn't focus for long and just thinking about something else, the lines disappear for lack of concentration.
Turning off his eyes, he kept looking at this.
The sun was rising, and by coincidence, the sun was rising right behind the huge pillar, which gave a great view.
After thirty minutes that he was absorbed in that vision, they finally reached the edge of the island, where they were greeted with a young man waiting for them. He wore a suit and there was nothing unusual about him.
Noah was the first to get off the ship and meet this guy.
"Gentlemen, please follow me." He said, and one could see that some were hesitant to do so. But seeing Noah, a child, follow without fear, prevented them from making a complaint for fear of tarnishing their pride.
If a child has the guts, who are you not to have? Those were their thoughts as they followed behind Noah.
After a few minutes they arrived in front of the huge pillar, but contrary to what Noah expected, there were no doors. It was just a massive pillar with his top above the heavens.
The guy in the suit then turned to face all those over there.
"Glad to meet you gentlemen, I am the examiner of this test, Niac. The explanations of the test will be given now, so pay attention because I will not repeat." He said, as he looked at everyone to see if they were paying attention to him.
Noah looked and was curious about what he should do and what the test would be. He didn't think it was anything like the anime, but he didn't care either.
Everyone was paying attention to Niac. He had said that he is the examiner, and looking closer now, they could see that what he had in his suit was his license hanging like a badge.
They hadn't noticed this, thinking it would just be a common badge. Seeing this, they all thanked the heavens for not trying to get in trouble and follow the child.
Niac waved to this as he continued for explanation.
"The test is simple. It's about you getting to the top." He pointed up, making everyone look where he was being pointed.
Some pale with the height, while others thought if there really wasn't anything else in this test...
"Is that it?" One let him escape, making Niac look at him as he smiled.
"Of course that's all, though... You have to survive the whole route obviously." He spoke, and as if it were to answer this comment...
*Creeak*
The sound of what all assumed to be a bird resounded all over the place, it was incredibly loud and high, making the ground shudder a little, while some huge falcon-like birds passed around the place.
Everyone who looked at it couldn't help but dry-swallow. Everyone except Noah, who looked to this with the eye with sparkle. For the first time he can use your death eyes! He couldn't help but get excited about it.
"So when does it start?" Noah asked, making the examiner look at him.
"It's already begun, you have 20 hours to go up there all the way. How you do it isn't my business." Niac said, while closing her eyes, still keeping her smile.
Noah heard this, he didn't want to wait anymore when he suddenly used Sonido and appeared 20 meters(65 feets) above the ground, hold to the pillar.
Everyone who witnessed this couldn't help but rub their eyes wondering if it was real, even the examiner was no exception.
'Was that Nen...?' He wondered, using Gyo, but unfortunately saw nothing different about Noah. 'He just... Teleported? I don't even know if it would be possible with Nen, but he did without Nen?!!' The examiner thought shocked as he looked at Noah climbing the pillar.
Even everyone else who was there couldn't help but to be surprised.
'How are we supposed to go against someone who can teleport?' They thought, afraid if any of the tests was a combat. Just to get out of your stupor. 'I'm not going to lose to a child!' They all thought as they went to the pillar running and started climbing.
30 meters above them, there was Noah, his mind was focused on something else.
'Damn... I have to train better Sonido, that's the bad part of being instinctive, I used unintentionally because of my animation of going up fast...' He thought, as he climbed the pillar without difficulty.
The pillar wasn't completely smooth and were there some ends that looked like they were shaped for climbing, maybe training environment? He didn't know, but he still continued to climb.
After a few minutes of climbing, his arms began to tire a little, and he was already relatively sweaty. 'How am I supposed to climb all this in one day?' He thought.
'By the way, how is it possible for me to go up this without help?!' Pondering what to do and how to reach the top, he looked up only to see a hole in the pillar. He didn't know what it was but he saw that there were this and a few more on the side, and they all seemed to fit a person.
'Maybe it's rest points?...' He thought, as he looked down and saw that it was already far above, maybe 50 meters from the ground. But looking up again, he can see it wasn't even halfway up the pillar. It was much, much bigger than a big building.
He even considered how this pillar can sustain so much weight and size without colapse.
'It doesn't seem to be too far away and maybe that are really rest points...' He thought as he continued to climb. After a few more minutes, he finally arrived at the hole and entered, being greeted by a small room, it was of course that it was only for one person.
There was a small fridge with some food and water. Not that he needed it, because he ate a lot before he came here while he was still on the ship.
Sitting on the icy floor of the pillar, he realized that the texture, different from the outside, was completely smooth.
Opening the fridge, he took some water and saw it was cold.
'I didn't imagine such hospitality in a hunter exam...' He thought, as he drank the cold water and felt it coming down his throat.
"Ah.... I really missed cold water!" He said sighing with pleasure. He spent about a week on the ship and there was no cold water!
Sitting on the floor, he rested while looking sideways and out,
enjoying the view.
It had been a few minutes when a man arrived and reached the spot he was in.
He climbed up and looked inside, only to notice Noah, who at this point, hadn't actived his eyes.
It was inactived when he used Sonido to climb, but he doesn't knowed until now.
'I need to improve my sense of my eyes...' He thinking, while was looking the man that just arrived.
"Hey, kid! You've been there too long, make room for me to stay and get out of here!" The man spoke in a commanding tone. But all Noah did was give him a snort. Opening your backpack in front of the man.
The man looked confused and thought that the boy did not have heared him.
Because Noah was not with his eyes active, the man was not afraid.
But that didn't last long, because when the man was about to demand again...
*Swish.*
