Loud roar.

The two were still walking through the desert in silence, while Alice refused to look at Noah.

She was thinking a lot about what happened, and somehow, what scared her the most at the scene was that Noah was still a child...

Carrying the saber against her chest, she accompanied him by side. Her eyes sometimes trembled as she remembered Noah pulling the flesh with his hands with brutality and the sounds of chewing.

A few minutes passed, when they heard another roar. This time even bigger than the worm's one, when the ground began to shake once again.

But the two knew it wasn't from another worm or anything. They looked at the horizon and saw a large group of giant scorpions running towards them, while the sand rose and disturbed the vision.

'They are running away from something?' It was the first thing Noah thought, looking at Alice, who was also looking at the scorpions.

The scorpions were fast approaching when Noah jumped from his place when the scorpions finally reached them. Alice did not stand still, while jumping with him, too high, and entered the fighting position with her saber on the air.

While in the air, before they began to fall, Noah turned to Alice.

"I want you to kill at least one scorpion." He said, as the two fell and landed on a scorpion in the crowd. Noah used Sonido to appear in front of that scorpion when a single tail appeared on his back and he used it hard to hit the scorpion's head, throwing it far behind its group.

The rest of the scorpions didn't care, as they continued to run, they really seemed to be running away from something.

Alice, who was on top of a scorpion on the side of the one that just was throwed back, jumped from above as she fell to the ground and looked at the scorpion that noah throwed far back.

The scorpion was in one piece, while his eyes glowed red, he was angry about being thrown.

"Why me?" She asked, while holding the saber hard. 'Can't he kill such a thing easily?' She thought.

"Do you think I'd put up with someone useless?" He answered as he appeared behind her and pushed her back forward.

She got off balance with the push, while fixated on a spot and looked at the black scorpion. Their eyes met as she thought about what Noah said and clenched teeth.

She remembered her goal and how she couldn't get stronger just by walking around and doing nothing.

She ran up the scorpion, which did the same to her. As soon as the two were to meet, Alice jumped, while using the saber as a weapon and directed it to the scorpion's eye, while doing a flip to climb on top of it.

The saber penetrated the scorpion's eyes without difficulty, while Alice landed on its back. Before Alice could remove the saber from the scorpion's eye, she saw a tail with a stinger, going to her head.

Jumping from where she was, the tail passed through where she was, as she successfully swerved away and pulled blades out of her pocket while still in the air and put them in her hands. With rapid movements, she cut several times below the scorpion's stinger in a few seconds. The cut deepened and the stinger began to separate from the rest of the scorpion's tail, which at that time was already trying to get off from that place.

Leaving successfully from where it was, the scorpion looked at Alice, who had already fallen to the ground and had her blades in her hands and watched the saber stucked in the scorpion's eye.

The tip of the scorpion's tail was only being held by a portion of its flesh, for Alice had cut it to the middle.

The scorpion roared as it launched itself once more upon Alice, who did the same.

'I have to finish this using the saber.' She thought, as she ran up. Jumping, Alice managed to reach the saber in the scorpion's eye, but instead of giving another mortal and stopping on his back, she propelled herself down while holding the saber handle.

The saber began to tear the scorpion, starting with the eye, while Alice went down the scorpion, with the saber tearing all the way. The scorpion that were running, did not have time to stop, while stumbling and began to roll, further helping the saber to tear it.

Arriving halfway through his belly, Alice pulled the saber from inside it as she was thrown away. Landing perfectly on the ground, she looked where the scorpion was. Looking at the organs of the scorpion coming out gradually from the great cut.

The scorpion was dead, as it didn't seem to move.

Alice sighed as she looked at her clothes that were stained with the creature's blood, for having cut underneath. She was all wet and a little sticky.

*Clap*

Sounds of clapping were heard behind her when she turned to see Noah, who was looking at it

"Congratulations!" He said, as he walked forward. 'At least she managed to kill it without getting hurt...' He thought, as he looked at the scorpion's corpse.

Walking to the scorpion, he put his hand on it only to see that the blood made too much sand stick to his carcass. Turning his face around without wanting to eat, he looked where the scorpions had fled before going the other way.

"Where are we going?" Alice asked, seeing Noah go the least safe way.

"Isn't that of course? We'll see what's there that scared the scorpions so much." He said, as he walked in the direction of where the roar was heard and thought of his gains.

"We don't will rest a little before going?" She asked, as she was breathing heavily.

"Of course not. If you are tired just by this, you're weaker then i thought." Noah said, as he moved on.

'It seems that now I can use my kagunes at full strength...' Noah considered, he knew that the amount of Rc he had was enough to use the 4 tails with 10 meters each. They were really big tails and would give a huge advantage to him.

He can also feel the increase in his strength because the reiatsu is denser. He couldn't wait until he learned Nen, if he was already strong at that point, when he mastered nen he was sure he would be part of the elites.

'What kind of Nen i'm?...' He wondered, still walking to the place where they heard the roar.

He felt his reiatsu much bigger than before, to the point of being almost triple or maybe even more, while he had the feeling that if he wanted to, he could already fly, but he didn't want to do that until he had Nen. Because he didn't want to carry Alice all the way, and if he flew he'd leave her behind.

Considering she knew too much, the chance of her telling someone was high, and for him to start being hunted by strong hunters or even the Zoldick family... He'd rather not risk it.

At least not until he was sure he could beat them all without so much effort, with victory guaranteed. He wasn't the calculating type, so he wasn't so good with strategy, although he knew a little, when it came to fighting someone stronger, all he could trust would be his own strength.

It wasn't long ago that he had come into this world, and although he was very strong, he knew that this was only if it was compared to just ordinary people, and when it came to people with Nen, not even if he used his reiatsu he would be sure he would win.

At least not yet.

Again, the roar hit them, sounded louder than before, signaling that they were near the site.

'What's that roar?...' Noah thought, while feeling the tension just for hearing it, as if the roar was pressing him. 'Nen?' He thought, as he continued his way.

Alice felt the same thing, with the difference that she fell to the ground when her legs seemed to lose strength. She began to tremble slightly, before forcing herself to get up, while her body regained strength and she continued by Noah's side.

The roar hit her too hard, but she recovered very quickly, leaving even Noah impressed as the two continued.

After a while walking through the extensive white desert, they had not yet seen anything.

'How high did this creature roar?' Noah thought, as his face writhed. They had been walking for a long time and had seen no sign of where the roar came from. He was already wondering if he should stay in this place. 'Netero sent me to die?' He thought, just to dismiss that idea. He knew Netero wouldn't kill anyone who wasn't a threat. And at this time, he wasn't.

After a few more minutes that the roar had stopped, when they saw something appearing on the horizon.

'Ruins?' He thought, seeing the place that resembled a small black castle, which contrasted with the white sand. He thought it was a little strange, but he knew that the reason he was here was probably that castle, which was in ruins at this time.

They walked around the place until they got to the castle front...
