Chapter One: The Mermaid Mission

"I have to do this. I need to do this." She whispered to herself, hoping for more courage.

Two mermaids stopped at the entrance of the hollow water where it is forbidden to any sea people. It is a hollow path to the darkness of the ocean where monsters and witches hide but it's also one of the fastest ways to another world. The human world.

It's been days since the poison started to take over Oceana and slowly killing parts of it. She needs to stop the spread for the safety of her people. And the only person she knows who can help her is a human.

"Princess, are you most certain of this?" Meria nodded as she took a deep breath.

"There's no turning back now, Agnes. This is the only chance I have to save the Kingdom and the whole oceana."

Agnes smiled at her sadly, "Please be careful. The witch said that everyone will be poisoned when the red moon finally shows up. I hope you can come back before that."

Worry washed over Meria as she gave her trusted help a reassuring smile, "I will do my best. Please take care of my father and my sisters while I'm gone."

"I will." Agnes answered and took her hand. She placed a bead of pearl on it. "Swallow it." she instructed, "It will not be easy but it's the fastest way."

With a nod, Meria swallowed the pearl. Agnes placed her forefinger on Meria's forehead and chanted a spell that will send her to the human world. A group of words Meria couldn't understand. "I will be your guide."

A blinding light surrounded Meria while Agnes continued chanting the spell. She started to feel the heat of her body, finding it hard to breathe. Her tail started burning as her heart hammered in her chest. The pain was too much. Her head throbbed. Like someone's trying to crawl out of it. she couldn't help but scream, but her voice was muffled by water. Her eyes flew open in shock and her hands grasped her neck. She couldn't breathe. Meria tried hard to gasp for air but salt water started filling her lungs. Agnes lifting her hand from her forehead is the last thing she saw before darkness took her over.
