Chapter 23

Gloria saw the sift in Marshal's expression the minute she entered the elevator, chalking it down to the emotions of a man who had just lost the woman who he claimed to be the love of his life. But, now upon closer inspection it looked different.

His eyes were not empty with a sense of broken loss despite his appearance. Nay, his eyes were alight with a strong emotion, one she could not understand.

"Mr. Montieth?" Gloria called out.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Would you mind stepping into my office? Mr. Howard asked me to go over something's with you."

"Yes, doctor."

Marshal sighed, steeling his nerves further still knowing it was going to come with greater vengeance as soon as he stepped into Dr. Jones' office."

Gloria was the psychiatrist the company had hired to deal with stress and any other mental ailments that the employee's wanted to work with.

Her office was on the same floor as Marshal's. This was the executive floor for the top notch employees of the company, the ones that held a very high position in the company. There was a floor above them, but that was occupied by the CEO and his managing partners. It was commonly referred to as heaven floor. Suffice it to say that Marshal made a lot of money and that Francis had not needed the job with the Redfield's. She simply did it because she wanted to work on her own, not wait around for Marshal to come home.

Marshal had first met Gloria Jones on 20th July about two years ago, back when he was still Junior Partner. She had been newly hired and she made visiting her mandatory at least once a week.

Marshal had grumbled about it to his fellow colleague that was until that afternoon he walked into her office and saw her for the first time.

She was a vixen in the form of a woman, far more dangerous than any ghost of a horror movie. He remembered standing at the door of her office what seemed like an eternity, simply watching her.

Watching her.

She got off her couch and walked to him, her long heels tapping loudly against the marble flooring of her small office. The sound brushing his cock like a promise. Her legs were so long that they seemed to go on forever, Marshal had never seen legs that long or that well shaped. His gaze slowly rise from Gloria's long legs to her small waist and finally to her breasts.

And once he did, he could not force his eyes to look up at her face. The two spherical molds were in perfect symmetry, moving up and down, as she took in each breath of air and let it out.

Marshal wondered how heavy they would feel in his palms.

"Mr. Montieth?"

She had called him, drawing his eyes to her lips. A full pair of pink lips, pouting, begging to be tasted.

"Beautiful perfection" Marshal said without meaning to.

"Thank you. I suppose. But, it is extremely inappropriate to make comments on my appearance."

"Yes you are right. I am extremely sorry doctor."

Gloria nodded.

"Marshal?" Gloria called out, snapping him out of the memory lane.

"It's just like the first time we met. Although, this time you are not staring at my breasts." Gloria laughed, reminiscing.

"That's not the only thing that is different." Marshal whispered.

"I suppose you are right. How…"Gloria trailed off as she saw Marshal's pupils dilate in fear. But, behind that fear was guilt and self-hatred.

It had not escaped Gloria that Marshal had turned his head slightly. The action had almost inconspicuous, but Gloria was paying attention. Marshal was barely in the room with her. It was almost as if he was talking to someone, but pretending not to.

And that truly worried Gloria for there was nobody in the office aside from her.
